Only problem: won't Fana be out of the rankings soon because of his inactivity? Still, even without the Ring title it's Burns' best opponent since Martinez by a long way.

Alex Morrison quoted in the papers saying it's the athletics arena. That holds 4,500 the smaller hall where the Martinez fight holds 2,200.

You keep the ring strap until you either move up in weight or retire...Fana has done neither. I won't believe this until its properly confirmed, seems too good to be true.

He's not the ring champion though, just ranked number 1 with Burns at 2. He last fought in September so I would expect the ring to remove him.

not if he has a fight scheduled plus they can be a bit slow at removing people

you only get removed if you have no fight scheduled like Floyd Mayweather.

he might get moved down though if one of the other super feathers has a decent win in the mean time. although Fana is currently no.1

nice work to fwank and rickys team if this comes off.

Would like for this to come off if he won he would surely move up to lightweight with nothing more to prove and would put him in the mix being the former ring champion at SFW

Well as the lineal champ at Super Feather he could get a fight with Gamboa or Lopez which he would get a mjaor fee for. He would be looking at least £250k for a fight like that. I don't think he is gonna get that fighting Mitchell.

Plus even if he lost at Super Feather to a big name he could get the Mitchell fight anyway.

Hope this is true, a winnable fight for Ricky but a major step up in class from his last 3 defences. Great news
