Just exactly why is Tarver a poor fighter?

Polls are meaningless on this site because for every poster who has a considered opinion there are a 100 who just post because they are fanbois.

He doesn't have any particularly outstanding attributes as a boxer. Poor may be a tad harsh, I'd term him 'Mr. Average'

It's not as if he can even fall back on his resume...

    You're describing Kessler to me.

Joe C is an excellent fighter and a certain HOFer. But regardless of who ducked how or why certain fights fell apart, him being seen as #1P4P is completely unwarranted when compared to other fighters in the Top 10.

These things tend to even out

For every Calzaghe fanboi ;) there is a knocker

You never know, there may be a few objective voters

Kessler has an outstanding jab, albeit one that was neutralised against an extremely good southpaw

    Your turn...

Tarver was a Bronze medalist in the Olympics, a World Amateur Gold Medalist, and a Pan American Games Gold Medalist

He fought Jones Jones Johnson Johnson Jones Hopkins in a row, in that order. That's a little better than JC's competition, isn't it?

Kessler is just as "Mr Average" as Tarver. He wasn't able to adapt his style in anyway to counter what Joe did.

Kessler is more average...He doesn't have the Amateur pedigree, resume of championship level competition, etc.

Yes, and he fecking lost to a shot Jones the first time around, as well as Johnson and Hopkins

So what's he got, a miracle punch against a completely shot Jones and one win against Johnson

Let me give you a hint. You should be arguing Tarver's competition and merits as a boxer relative to Kessler, since that is the actual point at hand

I don't think you yourself even know the point you are trying to make here, so as they say on the Dragon's Den "I'm out"

I'm off to bed as well guys, I'm too knackered to type anymore. We'll no doubt continue this tomorrow. We're so quiet at work I should have time to write something more insightful then.;)

I must say it's been good to have a decent conversation on here for once though.:thumbsup

KESSLER NEVER BEAT ANYONE. CALZAGHE BEAT KESSLER. THEY ARE 2 GUYS WITH PADDED RECORDS, PERIOD.

If Kessler fought Johnson, Jones, or Hopkins, he'd lose. He never fought anyone like any of them.

That SHOT JONES did just defeat a HW before that fight you realize. HE was fading as a fighter, but Jones was NOT shot.

How was Jones COMEPLETELY shot again? Whether YOU and the other Joe C nuthuggers think Tarver is shot ot JOnes or Johnson are all garbage, facts prove otherwise.
