I hardly think so Khan will get the HBO Viewings which is more than most british fighters would ever get. If you ask me Sky ****ed themselves over they backed the wrong horse (David Haye) sure they got the one massive fight but they missed out on years of good Carl Froch fights and one of the most Exciting young fighters ever in Amir Khan. I think Amir had good reason to be annoyed at sky they gave David Haye all the ppvs he wanted against has beens like ruiz or never beens like harisson they gave a british titlefight a ppv, Yet leave him with peanuts for the mcloskey bout which yer in all fairness was awful but it wouldve got a hell of a lot of buys and they would've secured the services of a future superstar

Totally agree. The hatred for Khan comes down to 1 thing, jealousy. Gaining so much support, popularity and fame in such a short space of time has really rubbed people up the wrong way. Also to a certain extent, his race has fed into the hatred from more racist Brtis.

The other thing is the arrogance peope talk of, i don't see it. Rather it is confidence to me, but then im not a hater. Wanting to take the best on including Floyd gets maximum respect from me.

The best thing he did was go to the states, where they appreciate talents like his.

The minority of folk who are doubting Amir and his 'appreciation towards his British fans' go to page 2 of this thread and read lolercakes response.

Each point he made is exactly what I wanted 2 say. Viperman it's good that you vented your feelings about this to the forum. He's only 24 guys... most of you guys know that knit-picking is dangerous to health.

    Cyber Shoutout to lolercakes :thumbsup

All good points on here, I agree a certain amount of the hatred could be racially motivated but Im not sure that's the whole story.

I think a lot of the early distain for Amir was due to the perception that he was being given an easy ride and cherrypicking easy opponents, the fact that he was with w@rren wouldn't have helped. The Barerra technical decision debacle did him no favours, even though it wasn't his fault.

He was also heavily hyped having won olympic silver, and after Audley Harrison had been such a dissapointment maybe there was a pessimistic expectation that he would be the same?

Personally I don't see what's not to like, he reacted well to his first loss and came back better. He's a lot more humble now and is fighting quality opponents, those that don't support him or give him his dues are probably haters that will never change their viewpoint and should just be ignored!

i don't see how anyone can have a problem with him fighting in the states, most if not all of the best brits have fought in the us. its just the way it is and it's where the most money is and we all know everyone's chasing the $$$. he has huge fan base and when that many people know who you are, not everyone is going to like you no matter how media savvy you are. ok so there are the racist muppets out there (when did their opinion ever matter?) but i could just as easily go around asking people about any big name boxer and get varying opinions ie. carl froch im a big fan of his but any time i mention his name theres always someone (if not everyone) that does not like him most dont even have a reason ??? but i dont hold it against them some you like some you dont.i never realy liked hatton or calslappy and dont think i could support khan the same way i have other fighters. dosent make me a hater, im a boxing fan first and i'll pretty much watch anyone fight (and i dont think khan minds that much if people are paying him to see if will get ko'd)

Spot on. I'm not saying anyone who isn't a fan should be ignored, just those who throw around baseless criticism without aknowledging that the guy has some skills. To be fair they're mostly trolls anyway

I think after that incident, where he ran over that old man, and crippled him (and later killed himself) made a lot of people hate him. A lot of the hate comes from people from Bolton, who have had encounters with him and his mates. And apparently they're (his mates) a bunch of dicks who just cause a lot of trouble, and hassle girls. Looking at pics of his mates, they certainly look like some of the dickheads that I grew up around.

I'm neutral about him. I will admit he does have talent, and Freddie Roach is helping him to unlock that talent, but I feel he's just sold out his UK fans, and just whored himself out to Sky and the USA. And his ego is starting to get annoying (I know it comes with being a boxer). He is interesting to watch.

Honestly, where do you get this nonsense from? Have you ever seen Khan in the UK? He's always happy to give an interview, media broadcast, sign autographs, go to charity events etc etc etc.

The problem with the British media is that they'll ride his coat tails and then utterly destroy him when/if he loses. Look what they are doing with Haye currently. They have no loyalty and Khan has recognised that.

It's not the fans he has a problem with, it is the media and how they back-stab him at every opportunity they can.
