I know that hard punchers are "Born and not made" e.g. Tyson and some people are just featherfisted e.g. paulie malinagi. But are there any excercises to add to what you already have?

Proper technique helps too. Rotating on the balls of the feet and generating power from the legs and hips rotating into a punch. I hate it when I see guys arm punching with no power behind them. If you are featherfisted, you better be a hell of a boxer.

    Practice throwing power punches.

Do some drills where you put as much mustard as you can into one or two punches on the heavy bag. I guess it's not a typical heavy bag workout but it will increase your power.

    On punching power:

Punchers are born and not made, but it's a mental rather than physical predisposition, which means that it can be reversed one way or the other through mental conditioning.

Think about it. How many guys who you think of as punchers can't be said to have a certain meanness to them, or at least a cold him-or-me mentality (or were just physical freaks)?

Guys of virtually any build can be punchers. It has to do with intent, mindset, and physical/stylistic development over time to suit one's intent in the ring.

aside from some basic strength training which i feel has helped tremendously, i use a 15lb medicine ball. i throw it at a wall as hard as i can and try to generate as much force and explosive power behind it as possible. i figure if you can get a 15lb medicine ball going you can get a 10oz glove going even harder

This whole post is total bull****, except for the fact that anyone can be a puncher.

That's true because its all about technique. There is nothing mystical about it.

    Its simple physics.
