Name some of the fighters who were known for having good or solid chins but just happen to get caught with the right punch they didn't see coming

the first that comes to mind is the left hook by Sugar Ray Robinson which dropped Gene Fullmer for a 10 count who had never been knocked out before or since. The second that comes to mind is when Duran was stopped by Hearns for the only knockout loss of his career.

Some or many may disagree but I say Lennox Lewis. His era of HW was so damn big and strong, and they all tagged him, Morrison, Grant, Briggs, Bruno, Ruddock, Tua, Vitali, Tyson... still he only got caught twice and neither time was he close to being comatose on the mat. And furthermore, he handed both in returns.

All of those are definitely Good example the one with Bonavena had came up in my mind afterwards and Foreman of course. Yeah Jess Willard took a brutal ass whooping by Dempsey which had the rules been by Modern standards wouldn't have even went past the 1st round

Rocky Lockridge vs Juan Laporte after this some thought he might be chinny.. But he showed a rock solid chin the rest of his career, and against some damn good punchers.

Roberto Duran vs Thomas Hearns he was on the slide but still had good fights after this..Duran is highly rated as an atg(deservedly so) but i actually think his chin is underrated.. NO one ever kod him again.. Except for Joppy but that dont count that was Durans middle aged daddy in there.

MANY MORE BUT THOSE FIRST CAME TO MIND.
