Whitaker by a point. Its a total joke that Cortez is still reffing big fights after this one. Yet we remain ignorant when he screws up on a call.
I scored this fight recently, and had it to Whitaker by a point. Wasn't overly impressed by either man or the fight though. ODLH seemed confused by Whitaker's skills, and Whitaker seemed more intent on making Oscar looking silly than actually trying to put distance between them on the cards. A pretty crap fight. If it had been the Whitaker of 1993-94, Oscar would've got embarrassed. Big time.
I had oscar winning by a point if I remember correctly, he edged it. It was much closer than the scorecards indicated though and basically any close score could be correct since its one of those fights that coudl have gone either way.

I agree with Popkins on the performance of both men, it wasn't mind blowing. I was surprised how in it Whitaker was although his normally heavy perfect offence wasn't on show. At the same time that is balanced out by an Oscar who wasn't looking particularly sharp with the jab and left hook allowing Whitaker to nick rounds with his mostly his jab. He did impress me with his "non-existent" right hand though and was doing the right thing by throwing combinations. His southpaw antics are best left unspoken... Thats my final scorecard for the fight. Even if I do watch the fight again, which I probably will, and I score it differently that will still remain my definitive scorecard of the fight. This one was actually wider than when I scored the fight 3 years ago, where I had Oscar by a lone point.
I had it 113-113. When Cus D'Amato talked about an aging fighter turning back the clock and having one last great performance, I think this can qualify. Pea's defense was great and he looked better than he had in recent fighters. unfortunately all that was on one side, his offense was poor in this fight.
