Yes, it's back again. All that rampant speculation that :

a)Pac is fighting a counterpuncher, so Floyd is next!
b)Floyd is fighting a southpaw, so Pac is next!

Even if that may be the case, and even IF (which is still a huge IF) these two guys do actually want to get into the ring with one another, I see someone dethroning these two before that megafight can materialize. Now I'm not saying that it going to be Ortiz, or even Marquez, but soon, one or both of them are going to slip out of their primes and get caught in the wrong place, at the wrong time, by the wrong opponent.

A such, we will be left just like Gamboa/Lopez, with appetites sufficiently whetted and only this to show for it:

Who do you believe will upset them? Because I'm having trouble thinking of anyone.

That's just it -- these two seem unbeatable right now, but we as fans should know anything can and will happen in the theatre of the unexpected. I don't know if Marquez or Ortiz can be those dark horses, but I think at some point one of them is going to get outhustled.

Outside of Martinez (Who will be avoided due to his size advantage) I can't see anyone beating either of the super two.

After these fights, aside from Khan and possibly Bradley there's no real viable opponent left for either of them.

Unless it's Sexy Sergio, I don't see any one upsetting them. Khan, Ortiz, Bradley, Rios, etc, none of them are on their level just yet.

Both are going against styles that give them fits so anything can happen.

That only applies to Pac, in my opinion. JMM is a genuine threat. Ortiz, quite simply, is not.

A loss doesn't affect my desire to see a fight.

I still want Gamboa-Lopez as much as before.

I'll still want May-Pac even if one of them loses (even if both lose).

Only "casual"s apple cart gets derailed.

A good fight is a good fight.

People are looking forward to their fight so much that they are disregarding every opponent they face.

Floyd goes on vacation and Manny fights another top rank fighter.

Personally, I think there are dozens of more entertaining fights to be had out there, the reason we are clamoring for it so much is because they both seem unbeatable right now. A loss certainly makes it lose some lustre for most.

topping this. A perfect storm is brewing.. all this renewed talk of PacWeather taking place. I can just feel an upset in the makings for one of these two. It's going to happen.
