No one knows as offical numbers are not released although the rumours flying about at the respective time of each fight; 800k for Valuev 600k for Ruiz 600k for Harrison No idea for Klit, we know the HBO figures were good thanks to Rafael and that the German figures were excellent as well.
How come they are not released? Klitschko-Haye was a record-breaker in Germany with 15 Million TV viewers (no PPV) Chambers had 12 Mil. Peter Rematch had 11 Mil. So we got no clue how many buyers we had for Wlad-Haye in the UK?
Nope, I have not seen or heard any figures regarding Haye-Klit. They are not released because they do not have an obligation to do so, unlike HBO.
Harrison and Valuev did 800,000, the figures for Wladimir and Ruiz were never given out in the press, whereas the latter figures were strongly touted through numerous outlets. Steve Bunce said that they got to 1.2 million buys for Wlad before their customer services team began to crumble and they started telling people to watch at the pub.
A BBC article that I read before Klitschko vs Haye said that Valuev vs Haye did ~ 430,000 sales and Haye vs Harrison did just under 250,000. EDIT: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13943609 469,000 and 223,000.
Well this is what happens when we don't have offical numbers. Haye vs Harrison must have done more than that surely 1971???
Question: HBO said Wlad-Haye did a "terrific rating". Got any ballpark number on what this terrific number is? Dan Rafael (12:04 PM) I am told it did a VERY strong rating both in the afternoon and in the prime time replay. No hard numbers but they were excited how it performed, especially in relation to what they paid for it. I would imagine between the live airing and prime time replay it had around 3 million viewers, maybe more.
Haye v W. Klitschko got 1,143,000 viewers according to BARB website - look under Sky Box Office Events for week June 27 - July 03 http://www.barb.co.uk/report/weekly...ton_submit=View+Figures&period[]=201107060103
Some interesting figures on the Fury v Chisora for w/e July 24 (look at Top 30 and select Channel 5 of BARB website) - averaged 2.2m and was their highest viewed programme of the week. Though looking at the rest of the crap on that channel it's hardly a surprise!
So...almost 4x the number that Haye got against Harrison, and 3x what he got against Valuev. Ya, that sounds like Haye was the draw to me.
223k seems the correct figure http://www.barb.co.uk/report/weekly...ton_submit=View+Figures&period[]=201011060114
Haye v Ruiz 177,000 viewers... http://www.barb.co.uk/report/weekly...ton_submit=View+Figures&period[]=201004060104
The DeGale v Groves & Cleverly fights in May only did 43k, no wonder Sky are considering dropping PPV. http://www.barb.co.uk/report/weekly...ton_submit=View+Figures&period[]=201105060122
