If Wlad is looking for an opponent soon, why doesn't he just fight Ustinov?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Ryan O'Reilly, Aug 5, 2011.

  1. Isn't he highly ranked by at least one of the bodies? Not to mention he is a K2 fighter so it should be easy to strike a deal. Let's be honest here. The 6ft 7 KO machine that is Ustinov will certainly put up a better fight than Haye did. Ustinov knows how to get the KO and will go for it straight away. Needless to say Ustinov is also a massive step up from Fury, Wach and Dimitrenko.

  8. He has built himself up. What is it now 25-0 with something like an 85% KO ratio. He's 34 so he will likely retire the same time as Wlad so he may as well take his shot now that someone is needed to beat Wlad.

  10. Voidz was a better scalp than Barrett anyway not to mention Monte was destroyed by Ustinov losing every round more or less.

The Klitschkos used Ustinov for sparring a few times and Alexander couldn't stay in the ring with Wladimir long at all...He took a beating.

    Arreola is most likely next..............

Well if Dimitrenko and Povetkin and Arreola aren't willing, then yeah Ustinov is a better choice than Wach or Fury. Just potentially a hard fight for K2 to promote unless they staged it in Ukraine.

Whatever happened to Valuev? SNV is really going to retire without a Klitschko pay-day?

The inactivity of the heavies K2 promotes (Ustinov and Banks) is not good--these guys should have had a slot on either the Haye or the Adamek card or both. Banks in particular got screwed over this year when Krasniqi bitched out on their fight twice.
