The New Season on Sky

Because we would get to watch it free on sky you *****.

It may be solid PPV in US but not over here at daft o clock. Will flop badly.

 

Sky Sports is not terrestrial tv, most people pay over £30 a month to watch it so it's not free.

 

Everyone involved is just a massive ****.

Khan is a **** for thinking he's some massive PPV star and all his fights deserve to be PPV attractions even when they're against irish bums without an undercard. Sky are ****s for setting a bad precedent by putting a british title fight on PPV and Primetime are ****s for jumping in at any given opportunity to save people from not getting ripped off with their safety blanket of glorious standard definition.

So yeah, well done everyone involved. You're doing great in your quest to kill boxing and also, you've annoyed me.

 

if primetime have a good pricing strategy then it will be a success. if they are lazy and charge £15 because that is what was charged before then it will fail.

i would be interested in primetime if they offered a yearly subscription service to the boxing alone, i really think as long as it is done sensibly and it could be very profitable for primetime and ideal for us boxing fans.

 

We all know much we pay for Sky, what he meant was we wouldn't normally pay again to watch a card from the US but apparently we'll have to if we want to see Mayweather's annual fight. What's doing my head in with this is that some people seem to assume that competition in the market is a good thing by default, normally you'd expect it to drive costs down but in boxing the opposite is happening.

To be fair I was glad of Primetime when they were showing cards that nobody else would pick up but if every card they show is going to be PPV and they're taking fights that Sky usually show for no extra cost that's not a good thing for boxing fans at all. Laz is right when he says Sky should take some of the blame too though, it's not exactly cheap and petty fall outs shouldn't be affecting the quality that we get for our money.

Yes, 100%. Have you seen the fights on the card? If Primetime are showing what HBO are, then I'll happily pay.

One night of Boxing does not affect whether Boxing grows or not. In the same way with Mayweather-Pacquiao happening or not, does not affect whether Boxing lives on or not.

If we see Boxing consistently on PPV in the long run, then it will, whereas one night of boxing, will not.

I don't understand what's wrong? I'd love to watch it on Sky, but I'm not complaining and not blaming Primetime. For one, I can say it's 100% PPV Worthy and one which I'm paying for. I'd love to see it in good picture etc etc as well, but if we do see more Boxing on Primetime then we should expect what you have mentioned, and Venus just said, they plan for HD next year, so how can you fault them?

I'm not complaining as I haven't had any problems, but some people are just being silly with their complaints.

How the **** is it free? I didn't know Sky was free, because last I checked, I'm paying for it.

I don't care what it sells. I want to see the fights.

A cracking undercard topped off with most talked about ****er on boxing forums sounds good enough for me. Yes i would prefer to watch it on sky but that aint happening.
