Why did Arturo Gatti choose the name "Thunder"?

    Arturo "Thunder" Gatti... why did he choose his nickname?

    I know, but I suspect I'm the only one here who knows.

    That's correct. If my memory serves me right, Joe and Arturo were presented as Thunder and Lightning on several cards, the first time being on August 2nd 1991 at the Quality Inn Hotel in Newark NJ.

    OK, here's the answer.

    Arturo was born in Italy.

    "Gatti" means "Cats" in Italian.

    "Thunder Cats", like the famous 80's cartoon.

    They made a new series:

    Lol, I was about to say he likes the "Thunder Cats". Didn't think that was the correct answer though, until I scrolled down and saw the recent post.

    Although, maybe he named himself thunder because he got "hit by thunder, twice".

    Can't recall which movie that line came from..Lol
