I doubt Arum has done everything in his power to make this fight happen. He has gained much more by lining up more winnable in house matches for Pac. Whether he is willing to now remains to be seen. If it is really all about agreeing to the test Floyd wants, it should not be that difficult. It's a risky fight for Pac, though...and Arum. I couldn't see why Arum would truly be in a rush to make it, unless he was willing to cash out on his cash cow.

Floyd is a BUSINESSMAN. He knows how to milk his product. He fights very rarely on purpose, because scarcity of a product will raise its value.

He also knows that being UNDEFEATED is the best thing going for him, because he's a boring fighter who would not generate great interest if he had a loss on his record.

If Floyd is ready to take the fight, then the fight WILL HAPPEN in May 2012 or later in 2012.

If Floyd IS NOT READY, the fight will not happen on a BUSINESS DECISION by Floyd. Not taking the fight means he knows he would lose the fight because Pac is simply too good for him. There aint enough slickness and blackness in him to beat Pac.

If Floyd doesnt take the fight, Floyd fans, please STFU and accept the fact your boy wants nothing to do with the Pac-Man.

Do the math. He can make big in house fights where he makes money off both fighters, sign new fighters with the promise of facing his cash cow, all while letting the biggest fight simmer (though he has to split the earnings here) . Had Pac fought and lost to Floyd already, things probably wouldn't have been this promising. There is no guarantee a trilogy would happen.

The actions speak for themselves. Cotto, Clottey (when he could have made the Floyd fight instead), Margarito, Marquez, potentially Tim Bradley, etc. Shane was independent, I think. The man has said on a number of occasions he would PREFER to make fights in-house. Floyd is ONE fight. In the event of a loss, Pac's stock drops (who knows how much). The odds of him losing to Floyd are 50/50, atm. That's a dangerous bet. For all the other fights, those were much safer bets, because, in all but one case (Mosely, I think), he represents the winner and the loser.

Arum has made 10 of millions from the Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, fights...and will increase those margins from the Marquez fight. Plus...he'll make nearly as much by making a fight with Floyd, at this point. I contend, he was in no rush to make this fight.

Those fights + a fight with Floyd > a fight with Floyd.

floyd has been fighting more in-house fights and quite longer than pacquiao. floyd has been fighting GBP in-house fights since 2006.
