Fighters who's careers were derailed after facing Bernard Hopkins.

I don't agree. Taylor stepped up in competition. The fighters he faced before simply wasn't on that level (No, not Bunema or a shot Joppy). Ouma and Spinks makes a lot of people look bad and it's hard when someone is as negative as Spinks. Hell, just look at how Horrible Vitali looked against Kevin the Kingpin who just tried to survive!

He looked good against Winky and the fight was an excellent one. Sure Winky may have nicked it but it was close (I had it a draw).

If anything ruined him, it was the second, third and seventh round against Pavlik. In the 2nd, he could and should have got him out of there, in the 3rd, Pavlik after all of Taylor's effort CAME BACK! and in the 7th he got brutally knocked out. THIS is what hampered him against Froch and Abraham - a fear of gassing out and thus not going for the kill/be aggresive enogh - and not a close, careful and technical fight against Hopkins.

It amazes me how people here are capable of reading minds. How does anybody know what Hopkins' opponents are thinking after facing him? Sure, it could be the truth in some cases but very speculative. The mental aspect is huge - there's no denying that - but I think it has more to do with the outclassing and losing your championship in itself rather than facing Hopkins.
