    Well Tuesday might be interesting.

But Hell I just remembered how a bunch of lying medical examiners were on a Nova show with Walter Cronkite, and I think only two of the 20 said ****** Commisson etc was all lies, and that JFk was shot from the front--based on wounds to the body.

Again I am expecting a whitewash, but hope to be proven wrong.

M.E.s tend to be very corrupt and that is how the state gets away with their murders. Other examples are murders of Marilyn Monroe and RFK. AS with JFK, the M.E.s were really rotten, if you catch my drift.

Anyone who thinks Gatti killed himself is very naive. Why the hell would he do that? And haven't you seen enough South American "suicides" and "accidents" to know it means murder?

What do you know about that story to know he didn't commit suicide? Gatti had all the signs of a severe depression. That is the cause of more than 95% of suicides.

A big bunch of people talking about something they don't know on this thread. Your way of KNOWING WHAT REALLY HAPPENED is freakening.

No doubt in my mind his wife was involved in his death. I believe there are probably 3 people, maybe more that should be held accountable for his murder. This was no suicide. Also, the fact that authorities didnt even do a standard blood-alcohol test after he was found dead just proves that the case wasnt handled properly from the start.

But as with most suicides dealing with depression, the person rarely kills themselves when they feeling low. Usually, the depressed person offs themselves at a high point in their depression, when they are feeling "good" rather than a low time...this was just a little more light being shed on suicide.
That being said, opinions are like arseholes....we will not ever know what actually happened.

We are just like anyone on this board, we don't know. The only thing I know is that a warrior like Gatti CAN commit suicide. Many people think it is impossible for him to do it but it's not true. It can happen to anyone. Gatti seemed to have many psychologic problems, added to all the punches he received in his career. Suicide is possible in these circumstances.

That being said, his widow is a *****.

don't like Gatti as a person, reports he was abusive...that said, his death is definitely suspicious.

Life is different than a boxing match, no matter how tough you are in the ring. Who knows what was going on in his head?

Athletes are often known to have trouble adapting once their sports careers are over. Then you have alcohol abuse, and possible brain trauma. Look at the recent studies of NFL players suffering brain trauma and later having depression problems and even suicide.

Source: Jacques Pothier's biography of Gatti (for those who can read French), reports that Gatti often expressed suicidal feelings. Reportedly, low self-esteem (exacerbated by an abusive father), drugs, alcohol and chronic's boxer's encephalopathy may have lead to his demise. His association with Peter Lynch was depicted as detrimental. Being friend with Pernell Whitaker didn't help either. Gatti also cultivated negative thoughts against the sport of boxing (felt exploited financially and abused physically by the sport itself).

On a personal note, my aunt and uncle's property in Montréal-Nord was adjacent to the Gatti home on Parc-Georges street therefore I know Arturo personally from childhood. I can vouch that Gatti's father, an electrician and construction contractor at the time, was an abusive character.A dysfunctional family if there is one though Arturo and Joe, as turbulent and feisty as they were, were nonetheless charismatic kids.

Gatti wouldn't be the first boxer to commit suicide.

I think the situation is shady, but it doesn't mean its far-fetched to think he killed
    himself.

People seem like they just don't to believe that he could kill himself, but we don't know really know that much about his emotional state outside the ring do we?

Look at Alexis Arguello. He seemed in cool and in control, gutted it out in his fights (although Pryor was able to get him to give up), but he was so troubled and depressed outside the ring that he almost killed himself in front of his son. Two decades later, he most likely did kill himself.
