I always found him entertaining and a real inspiration. He accomplished alot without having graced the top of the sport and (technically) gave Jon Jones his first loss hahaha.

Forreal though, I'm glad he's walking away on his own terms.

    I was a fan.

I'm not a fan of wrestlers full stop, but I had a lot of admiration for Hamill. I'm a bit disappointed he has retired because I think he could still have achieved some good wins in his career even though he'd never be a top guy, but if his heart isn't in it anymore then it's the right decision. Salute The Hammer.

I think it's the best decision, his skills took him as far as he was gone go, MMA is too damaging of a sport to just stick around in.

There's no point in continuing to have your head smashed in when there's not a hope in hell of ever achieving greatness or the big money.

Thats a suprise. He went out on his own terms but he must've realised that he can't get any further. Whenever he steps up to a genuine top 5 or even 10 fighter, I'd expect him to lose.

Is it weird that a deaf guy underachieved in a position where he overachieved so much to get there in the first place?

All the best to him, I always felt a bit guilty watching him fight even though he clearly did it for the love.

The UFC should hire him as their WCAG 2.0 accessibility adviser for their web sites and sales stuff.
