where would froch be ranked if he beat andre ward, kessler, bute and moves up to light heavy and wins a title there and has couple of defences then decides to retire.. Would you consider him as a All TIme Great ?
yes Carl, that would be enough. But you gotta beat Ward so you better be watching those tapes and working on your dirty tactics, caz Ward doesn't fight clean.
I think he can beat kessler in a rematch and I think bute is unproven at world level but ward fight is the hardest fight for him to win.. And if he beats ward then he will have enough momentum and confidence to beat kessler and bute.. The LHW division is weak so I think froch can pick up a title there.
It would sure be hard to argue with that resume. I dont think he can... but IF he did, he's be one of the best brits of all time.
That is asking A LOT out of a guy who is already 34 years old. He is 34 years old people! Father time is not on his side. He very likely will never have opportunity to amass all those fights, let alone win all of them. But yes, if he had: W Ward, W Kessler II, and W Bute, plus a 175 run of, say, W Cleverly, W Pascal II, and W Dawson, then he'd absolutely be an ATG and HOF in my eyes.
atleast he dont duck anyone and fights everyone unlike alot of americans who dont fight no1 and stay at home lol
No that wouldn't give him ATG status, but it would elevate him beyond all of the other european champions including Calzaghe. A win over Bute is not so important, since Bute is essentially a no body who has been manufactured into a star. For froch to achieve ATG status he'd have to begin by beating Ward (which I doubt), rematch Dirrell and beat him decisively, make a fight and beat Pavlik, move up and beat someone Tarver or Hopkins, then face and defeat some of the up and coming young guns. That should do it.
What if Ward beat Froch and went onto complete the same achievements? Your answer would definately change
This is probably like, 6 more big fights for Froch.. I actually think that he looked a bit battle worned against Johnson.. A bit.. I doubt his body will be able to handle it.. As another poster mentioned.. He is 34.. And not only does his body have to make it.. He has to win the fights too.. I say it would require a minor miracle..
