First Cro Cop, then Wandy, then Nog, now Fedor....

I really wish Fedor would retire. When someone who had his punch resistance in his prime gets sparked by a punch thrown with no leverage from a 207lbs man, you know it's over. This could get Roy Jones style bad.

 

I hope he fights on...... You are a long time retired and nobody wants to see him gone for 3yrs than decide to fight again when he will be well and truly shot.

 

Interesting factoid from Meltzer's latest radio show - apparently Zuffa market tests proposed ppv main events and is usually pretty good at guessing how well they'll do. Back in 2007 they market tested Tim Sylvia vs Fedor Emelianenko and predicted that it'd do 800,000 buys!

 

His 3 losses were still competitive and some of the most exciting fights of the past two years. Is that telling of Fedor or of today's MMA?

He should be able to fight as long as he wants to by which I mean as long as he is not being pressured to.

 

None of those fights was really competitive. He missed Werdum on a punch and got promptly choked out when he overreacted and went barbarian in looking for the finish, he got beat up standing and mauled on the ground against Silva, and he got beat up by a natural MW with the exception of one flurry that couldn't even stop said MW for more than a second before Fedor's own China Chin got shattered to pieces.

I'm not against a man making a living but if he hasn't squandered it or been milked dry by the leeches at M-1 then why the **** should he go on a can crushing tour or get the **** beat out of him everytime he faces a legitimate fighter? What's the point of that? Fanboys getting there jollies off pretending he's still the baddest man on earth? That makes no more sense than Mike Tyson coming out of retirement and taking on all comers in an exhibition at your local flea market.

 

Buddy, he almost had Fabio and Henderson finished, Silva you could argue was a beatdown, but he was not in the territory of the latest Crocop, Wanderlei or Couture fights in terms of being shot.

 

Werdum wasn't even hit flush by the punch and he dropped back to guard to lure Fedor in the same way that he attempted to do to Alistair who watched the Werdum/Fedor fight, obviously.

I'll grant you that he hit Hendo and he felt it but the guy never bothered to cover up and go into a shell even after tasting Fedor's vaunted GnP and only seconds later reversed and flatlined him with a punch with no leverage on it. He couldn't have been that hurt.

He got beat by a MW. That would be equivalent to Wanderlei or Couture losing to a blown-up WW. Abysmal.:deal

 

Honest thoughts , i think he gives Overeem all he can handle and more , even now !!!!

Lesnar is sick more than he's healthy and was battered by Velasquez after being labelled " the baddest man on the planet " and Fedor is 0 & 3 in his last 3

Fedor Overeem is the way forward for both of them fighters

 

We were talking about 2009/10 i.e. when Fedor was made a dream offer to come into the UFC. Given that Brock had done 1.7million for UFC 100 and the hype that was surrounding the sport and how Fedor-Brock really captured ESPN's imagination during the contract talks it could very well have done 2million.

 

Are you one of those fans who takes their opinion to the extremes after every win/loss?

 

A little overrate because he was a pride fighter and past his prime..he would fight people like Sapp or Pudz, making easy money without risking another painfull loss.
