Predict how the weight of David Tua for his upcoming rematch on August 13th with Monte Barrett. Obviously Barrett will be a ripped 220-225lbs, but the fluctuating weight of Tua is more interesting to predict. Here are the weigh-in results for Tua's 4 recent comeback fights of 2009 to 2011 so far... 237¾lbs against Shane Cameron (october '09) 239¾lbs against Friday Ahunanya (march '10) 237½lbs against Monte Barrett (july '10) 248¾ against Demetrice King (march '11) My estimate is that Tua will be aprox 235lbs for the Barrett rematch, despite his horrid weight against Demetrice.
Will Tua shock us all, & strive to reach 230lbs for this fight, knowing he can't get a Gift Draw twice?
Since he weighed 248lbs in March... 235lbs now? It's hard to predict. I also see he Knocking out Barrett.
Well Demetrice King was just a 15-19 record dude, i'm a little suprised Tua didn't roll in at 250lbs+ to fight him... Whereas here, Tua knows his career is totally over, if he doesn't beat Barrett this time.
240. I think Tua genuinely believes he only struggled with Barrett because of his shoulder energy and I don't think he'll take Two Gunz terribly seriously this time. I'm not saying he should, it just seems like that's how Tua thinks.
Two unloaded Gunz isn't going to do anything in this one. Though knowing how bad Tua is, anything is possible. Barret is beyond past it at this stage, there's a reason Tua is fighting him.
Tua aint knocking ANYONE out anymore...quit watching youtube videos of Tua from the 1990s since 2003 (8 1/2 years) he has 12 fights, only 6 knock outs (went 10 rounds in his last fight with a guy with 19 losses) those KOs against cerone fox 8 wins 5 losses Saul Montana 14 losses Maurice Wheeler 10 wins 8 LOSSES Edward Gutierrez 15-2 ( 2 losses in a row) Talmadge Griffis 22-5-3 (lost 4 of 5 coming in) Shane Cameron (who pretty much sucks) Tua is a ghost of what he once was...and ESB fanboys still think hes the guy who KOd Ruiz in 1996
Tua will come in around 240-245, and i agree with Funny Man that he'll underestimate Barrett and will pay the price. Monte will come in at 220 and i think will take a wide UD seriously outworking a tiring Tua down the stretch... I don't see Barrett being able to KO Tua but i also think that Tua doesn't have the power to trouble even a fairly shot Barrett. I think that a recurrence of the shoulder injury will likely be proffered as an excuse post-fight.
