Greetings, I am writing a new Bio On Sonny Liston. It is not going to be a rewrite on nick toaches, or rob steen. It had to do more from the personal side of his life. Believe it or not. I would like to talk to anyone who knew him, including relatives, how I can get in touch with his widow, or anybody involved in his life. Thank you.
I may still have Mike Parkhurst's email. He directed Sonny in "Moonfire" and managed his movie/tv career. We spent many hours talking about him.
Look for anybody who had a connection with the Thunderbird Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Irving 'Ash' Resnick connections. Possibly the Las Vegas neighborhood where Sonny and his wife lived in, during the 60's. Unfortunately, all those Mom & Pop liquor stores that Sonny frequented while out in Vegas are all gone now. Bet those Liquor Store owners would have more than a few things to say! And also, the service staff up at the old Grossinger's Hotel in the Catskills of New York. What most likely you will find, nobody's talking.
Would love to read a new Liston book. Especially his early life as i felt "Night Train" didn't go into enough detail and was mainly hear say
Can anyone explain the difference between 'Night Train' and 'The Devil and Sonny Liston' both by Nick Tosches????????????/
Hope you get your Sonny Liston bio out soon. Lewiston, Maine residents are in the process of putting one together. Food fact; 91% of the people interviewed said it was 'FIXED". These are town citizens, and attendee's of the fight. Food fact; 100% said they never wanted to see Sonny Liston again.
Wonder what happened to the long-rumored movie about Sonny. Supposedly Ving Rhames was the lead. Was looking forward to it.
Anyone else who can give any positive stories about Sonny. Gerry Cooney Is helping me on the fight commentary of many of the 50's liston fights need more contacts. want to do a great job. thank you Mike A
