Any word on Lemieux?

Better for Lemieux that he lost to Rubio, he is still young and very talented and should be a future legitimate champion. The "0" gets taken too seriously these days, thanks to guys like Mayweather, the longer a fighter's undefeated streak continues the more they are determined to keep it, even if it means ducking tough opponents to do so.
Lemieux has that bull**** out of the way and we will see if he has the determination and intestinal fortitude required to reach the top.

Lemieux, in his head, thought he could beat anyone with his power. His coach said in an after fight interview that he tried to warn Lemieux about Rubio but Lemieux didn't acknowledge. Lemieux didn't listened because his coach had said the same thing about Ayala, Camacho, and others, but everytime Amber would tell him : "watch for this guy, he's got talent and experience, etc", Lemieux would knock them out quickly. So when Amber told Lemieux to not just rely on his power, that power was a tool, not a strategy, Lemieux would just not listen! Why would he just listen to his experienced coach while Lemieux would easily prove him wrong?

Now that night against Rubio Amber just happened to be right. Now that his coach can talk to him, let see how that young exiting boxer who lost a contender fight at 22 will react.

If I have to put a penny, I would put one on the idea that he will be world champion within three years.

 

Lemieux is a small journeyman who could never beat top opposition. that is not even speaking off his extremely low punch resistance. Absolute hypejob to the tenth degree.

i was hoping to see him bounce back and get some early kos agaisnt lesser guys while trying to fine tune things in the gym

he needs to get rounds in and learn to be a 10 or 12 round fighter

he has many tools but he needs to get rounds in

power is such an overrated attribute if the fighter doesn't have the stamina and skills to use it effectively for 12 rounds and not 3 or less.

 

Not a lot of guy could take the punishement Rubio took into his fight against Lemieux. However, I hope David learned from it and knows now that some guys just have a granit chin. Lemieux learned he has to doze his energy, set up his guy and throw more punch to the body so it can take it's toll later in the fight. I'm sure he will listen to Russ Anber next time. He can hurt anybody outhere if he use his brain. My main concern: his mental. I've listened to him in a Quebec sport channel (RDS) 2 months ago and his self confidence seemed affected IMO. Hope this is not the case cause he must have no shame of what happened. He is still in a learning process. He wasn't knocked out, just gazed out like Bute against Andrade I.

That's why i think that fight depends on if he can take his power. He will be hit thats for sure and Lemieux does have legitimate power. However Chavez has filled out at 160 for sure. and it helps when on fight night you come in at 180 to absorb punishment.
Same thing as Rubio. If the fight last longer than 4 then Chavez by TKO. His body work and pressure are pretty relentless. Also How is Lemieux mentally? After a beating like he took pressure might break him quicker this time around.

 

Lemieux and his coach have work this in the last couples of month , Lemieux was on top of the world and since his lost he need to realize that he wont KO every one. I'm still thinking it's a good lost , it's not like he's been KTFO by some no-name , Rubio is for real and got a shitload of experience.

At least we agree on something , it would be an hell of a fight!

He very well could. I mean Ortiz went from having no heart to being in a FOTY knockdown war.

Like i said though. That chin looked unreliable to me. Maybe he should do some more neck work to help absorb the shots better.
