no KO but i pick Dawson

    he is quick and young

he has fast hands and throws combinations and makes an effort to not be there to be hit

hes had two hiccups a late round folding vs johnson and a non effort vs pascal

if he fights like the hiccups in his career he will lose

if he moves and makes the old man chase and throws combinations he can win

pascal in fight two got him on the ropes and hurt him at times

dawson doesnt have pascals power but he has the out put pascal needed to win

i think hopkins is ripe to lose but its a matter of if dawson shows up

I really hope Dawson's plan isn't going to be to go toe to toe and slug against Hopkins.

He tried to do that with a fat, fading Diaconu and almost got dropped himself a couple of times near the end. Didn't even come close to knocking out Diaconu even though he was loading up on his punches for the whole fight.

I hate to say it but I could very well see Dawson stopping Hopkins from a corner stoppage. I think Hopkins is gonna meet his match in this fight and get beat up badly. Dawson has the tools to do it.

after he learned that pascal could do it.

dawson, if u win it, it's usual for b-hops is 46
yet. if u lose, u r worse than the worst

B-HOPS WILL DO SOMETHING SPECIAL TO U, BECAUSE NAZEEM RICARDSON MUST HAVE A SPECIAL TRICK FOR U!

Remembers me of Team Pavlik. They made up that big story about knocking Bernard out. At first you have to hit Bernard and already this gonna be hard work.

I actually think Hopkins may make Dawson quit. Dawson really has nothing to show me he could win this fight. His skills have eroded in the last few years.

What are you talking about? Dawson is indeed one of the better light heavyweights out there now and thus, Steward would be willing to train him also because he fits Steward's preferred type of fighting style. But I'm sick of people grossly overestimating his skills, mindset, and ability...the fact that he's considered one of the two best light heavys is a testament to how shitty this era is. Dawson plays offense/defense, isn't a standout counterpuncher, isn't a standout defensive fighter, doesn't have much of a built-in radar, has mental lapses, moves in slow motion half of the time, doesn't throw as many punches as he should, punches at and not through the target, throws pre-practiced pad-work combinations, has overrated timing and accuracy, is open for right hands, has a shaky jaw, and has a pretty basic/non-improvisational skillset that looks better because of his quickness and above-average athleticism. It's shocking to me how many people think he's some sort of a great lhw fighter who is going to walk all over B-Hop...but hey, when you're the type of person who has only seen lhw fights over the past 10 years since RJJ, you're not going to have much of a mental library of fighters to compare him to.

If he wants to beat Hopkins, he's going to have to work hard for it...work harder than he's ever worked...and even then, it's not going to come easy, because even at 46, Hopkins is craftier, far smarter, and tougher than Dawson...and he still knows how to set traps that Dawson is too stupid to pick up on.

Never said Dawson wasn't one of the best now. He's a good fighter, it's just people like you who hype him to no end and confidently pick him to annihilate and stop a man who has never been close to being stopped. And mind you, Dawson couldn't even accomplish those feats against Tarver or Johnson in two tries, against a hittable Adamek, or against Adrian Diaconu ffs. And all the excuses in the world don't change the fact that he was well behind on pts to Jean Pascal at this weight. If Hop does go into defensive mode, Dawson isn't the kind of guy who can create openings for himself and set things up three or four shots down the road...he'll coast if it comes to that.

It's funny that you even use the word nuthugger...look in the mirror man. Everybody knows it. It's not a secret. ...And I've said it time and time again that as great as B-Hop is (or was, really), he's obviously benefiting from fighting in a weak lhw era. I dont for a second think he wouldve been the champion in stronger divisions.

I'm not the idiot. You are. I know what to look for when I watch fights and study boxers. You don't. Now move along and stop wasting my ****ing time.

I see a fairly easy Dawson victory. This is a bad style match up for Bhop. Dawson is like a much Better jermain taylor. I predict a ud or even a tko for Dawson.

I don't overestimate Dawson and his abilities, I think it's the other way around, posters like yourself and all the Hopkinns nuthuggers overestimate his abilities.

The thing is B-Hop is 46 years old and has the work-rate of a grandpa. As good as Hopkins is, there are fights where he looked like **** (particularly against Taylor, Wright, and Calzaghe). He is not unbeatable, despite his high ring IQ and mental toughness, he has his limits. To say that Hopkins will study Dawson and dismantle with his low work-rate rate, I think is expecting too much. October 15 will be a great fight, we'll see.

I will watch Chad Dawson eat his words, and Hopkins punches, live at the Staples Center in October. Should be fun.
