Current P4P Biggest Punchers

Dont see how JMM, Maidana or Pac get a mention really.

 

There's just a dearth of punchers in the modern game, there's no Hearns, Cuevas kicking around.

Maidana and Matthysse are both up around 90%, one couldn't get rid of a shot Morales and the other was taken the distance by Zab.

I think Pac is right up there personally. Laid out Hatton at 140 and busted Cotto up real bad. Mosley took bombs from DLH, Forrest, Cotto etc..... Margarito took hidings from Cintron and Cotto, and about 1000 right hands from Mosley before being rescued.

Not sure any welterweight in history would stretch either Mosley or Margarito early, and few would get them out of there inside 12.

 

Pac hit Cotto with the kitchen sink for 11 rounds and still "only" came away with a TKO.

 

Abraham gets my vote as the biggest puncher, its a shame he's so limited but he has scary power

As has already been mentioned there arent many great punchers around at the moment.

Bute can bang a bit imo

 

A lot of names been posted on here are of boxers who are currently doing well at the moment.... Which is quire irrelevant, names such as Mosley and Abraham are been discounted because of it, who clearly punch harder than the likes of Pacquiao and JMM (seriously??).

 

Bit harsh on Pac there for me. Whatever you think about DLH dropping down to 147 and the catchweight against Cotto he still stopped them and looked pretty devostating. Clottey and Margo are tough if nothing else and Mosley had no interest in engaging. I think his power is up there P4P even at 147 :good

 

Donaire, Gamboa, Segura, Pacman, Abraham

 

Lemieux, Sillakh, Saludar, Tsuchiya, Dante Jardon and Omotoso are a few big-punching contenders that haven't been mentioned yet.

He's definitely got a dig on him but I've always thought of him as more boxer than puncher.

His power isn't the most forefront thing about him, but I definitely think he can punch a bit. IMO, a boxer-puncher

 

I know Juanma is more of an accumulative puncher but when he goes for the KO those shots look powerful.

Ask Juan Diaz if JMM is a big puncher. From 126 to 135, only man to really rattle Pac to the head in the last few years.

Sure, he falls under pure technique more than anything, but it's his timing and accuracy that make him such a deadly fighter. He is not a pure K.O force, but hits harder (in terms of his own division) than Maidana IMO.

No Arguello, obviously.
