Remember the fight, not long ago, that ended in a knockout win by a low blow that was extremely low? Where was the outrage then? There was none, the announcers just shrugged it off.................Vic was hit by Mares with low blows over and over again, where was the outrage about that?

Well I disagree with the first sentence--but maybe statistically you are right. In that, Cortez may do some honest reffing when he hasn't been paid or ordered to do otherwise. That doesn't absolve him from the fights that he is corruptly influencing by not enforcing the rules on one of the fighters and allowing the other to get away with illegal activity.

One dirty fight is one too many, even if such a ref "usually" does an honest job--that just makes it easier for him to hide things or for others to absolve him.

But if u r right about Mora being solely an in-house ref for Oscar, that is news to me. I did not know such a thing existed. Someone can ref only for 1 promoter? I've read indications of this, but not proof. You seem like an insider? Or at least someone who has some proof of this?

    Got any links?

As long as you can admit that everything you say is crap, at least you are honest about your dishonesty.

This was different. Allowing a fighter to break the all time record for most clean landed shots to the family jewels. I counted no less than 20 crisp low blows. Absolutely amazing the way Abeko handled it during the fight. He is a class act.

I wonder if there is another possibility? I hope not, let me even say probably not.

But if that were you, wouldn't you be outraged, wouldn't you take things into your own hands and wallop his jewels right back?

Is it possible that Agbeko knew who was to win this?

Again probably not. But boxers are not known to be the sweetest people and to take things lying down?

Where was the outrage? Where was the retaliation?

To his credit--although quite late--Agbeko's manager did go a bit ballistic was it at the end of Rd 11. I was even thinking--take your man out of there, end it, if you see the ref is on the take!

Cortez would not allow Hatton to fight on the inside, then took a point away from Hatton for accidently hitting a ring rope!

I think Cole is the worst ref today................

Agree 100% re FLoyd/ Hatton fight. Totally altered the fight. FLoyd had to duck his ass outside the ropes. And I think it was fair game to go after the wimp for doing that. Cortez was just looking for anything to take points. FLoyd could have had a point deducted for trying to hide in such a fashion, if ref had been honest--or for using his elbows.

Re Cole, saw this link and radio or podcast interview:
    http://www.blogtalkradio.com/vegasv...ence-cole-boxing-corruption-a-referee-exposed

Says Cole is corrupt and involved in (hush hush) conspiracies in Texas.
