The fight was agreed on should Judah win but Judah did not win, the fight still went on and again you want to talk about Tony not staying in the W column look at Zab. Just grow up and be real the reason why Floyd Mayweather fought Baldomir and Judah is because it was an easier safer fight. The reason Floyd came back and fought Marquez is becuase that was an easy fight and a way for him to make money on Pacquiaos name.... However I do see that your still spittin that ***** excuse regarding this topic all together and I fully expected this sort of response from you. Honestly I'd respect you more if you just said the truth... I dont know why Floyd fought either guy however you do have a better understanding why he fought Baldomir but really there is no reason he should have fought Judah..
Nobody believes Floyd ducked Margarito except you and *******s. Nobody gives a **** what you have to say talking about Floyd or Pacquiao because you talk out out of both sides of your mouth. You don't even have your facts straight on this issue. **** you think Floyds fans are going to say gee Bazooka, you're right, Floyd did duck Margarito. **** outta here
Cotto got beat up after Floyd officially announced his retirement, when Floyd was actually retired. I understand that and it's irrelevant to my post. My post is about a window between December 2007 and June 2008. Right after the Hatton fight December 2007, Cotto was #1 contender at 147lbs, his stock was at it's highest point. There's no other reasons existing in this world for why that fight didn't happen, other than Floyd's choice.
did you read my whole post? I gave the reason why Floyd retired instead of fighting Cotto. Also the Hatton fight was worth more money than Cotto at the time and Hatton was calling out Floyd's name for a while and Cotto was keeping his mouth shut
My post is about after the Hatton fight. That being said, regardless, you show me another example of Mayweather taking a lower risk higher reward fight instead of taking on #1 contenders. Yes I read your post, the only proof you've showed me are excuses to why he didn't fight Cotto after Hatton. His body breaking down is an excuse. Fighting someone for more money who is a lower risk is an excuse. Margarito and Cotto were both #1 contenders at some point or another at 147lbs when Floyd was the champion. Not Ricky Hatton, Hatton was never a major player at 147lbs.
Margarito was never a good option until he beat Cotto (while Floyd was retired) and before Oscar when Floyd took the more valuable fight in Baldomir Floyd beats Oscar May 5, 2007 Paul Williams beats Margarito July 14, 2007 Cotto beats Mosley November 10, 2007 Floyd beats Hatton December 8, 2007 Quitana beats Williams February 9, 2008 Margarito beats Cotto July 26, 2008 Mosley beats Margarito January 24, 2009 Hatton was in the picture for Floyd for years before that fight. Hatton called Floyd out on national TV and Cotto kept his mouth shut and never expressed interest in the fight. Hatton had a bigger fan base and was rated higher p4p. Both fighters are pressure fighters and undefeated. He couldn't have gone wrong choosing one or the other except Hatton was worth more. Oh and the fact that Cotto was with Bob Arum didn't help much.
Floyd should have fought Cotto after the Hatton fight . There's no evidence or anything that says otherwise. The reason he didn't fight Cotto was all his decision, no other variables. Cotto was #7 p4p and #1 contender at 147lbs after the Hatton-Mayweather fight. Margarito was the #1 contender in 2006 at weltwerweight when Judah was the champion, Judah didn't fight him, he fought Baldomir who he thought he could beat easily. Baldomir wasn't even top 5 before he won that pile of belts. The people that say Arum ducked Floyd and that Margarito ducked Floyd are idiots. Margarito wanted that fight, Floyd chose money instead. In my eyes that's a duck, facing a guy in Baldomir for a few more dollars and a lower risk is a duck in my eyes. Margarito was #1 contender back when Judah was champion, Baldomir was #10. Margarito was the #1 contender for about 2 years and never got a shot at either champion.
you're just saying Judah ducked Margarito, but not Floyd. Floyd was trying to fight the lineal champ (Judah), but he lost. He already signed to fight him, so he goes along with it and fights a guy heavier, faster and more powerful than him who's a southpaw. Sounds like a stylistic nightmare. Then he fought the guy that beat Judah and was also lineal champ. How is it a duck when you fight the lineal champ instead of the number 1 contender Let me ask that again. How is ignoring the number 1 contender for the lineal champion a duck? :rofl:rofl And I already gave you the reasons for Floyd not fighting Cotto after Hatton.
