How is Foreman overrated? Nobody puts him ahead of Ali or Louis and while he had only two title defenses, he had a freakish KO percentage and destructive wins over Frazier and Norton who gave Ali all he could handle. Comeback Foreman was lucky to win the title, but just being competitive at that age against Holyfield and Moorer was special.

No one has mentioned Tommy Hearns, Tommy was kind of like the Minnesota Vikings or the Buffalo Bills, sure he was a v.good fighter but he is made out to be a legend when the guy could never win the big one, could never close the show.

A shot W.Benitez and raw D.DeWitt gave him all he could handle, some even say they should have won.

I'm always saying that in 1974,it was only Muhammad Ali,out of the crop of boxers around at that time, who could have beaten Foreman. If Ali had n't have been on the scene,it was likely that George would have held the title for a few years.

Even Jimmy Young would n't have been ready,at that time,to best Foreman.

Don't get me wrong I love Tommy and he's not the overrated fighter ever, he was so intense, rangy, aggressive.

Guy had immense flicker jab that disguised a lightning cross, & ripped the body up. But his chicken legs failed him too many times to be considered legend.

in a sense true but he beat the hell out of duran and likely won the rematch with leonard. add in belts from 147-175 with wins over HOFs like benitez, cuevas and hill...you've got a pretty damn good career

I will be the lone disagreement then.

Foreman sits one step higher on my ATG list over Ali at Heavy. Sure he lost to Ali. But, he beat the hell out of him for many rounds, the ropes were loose and Foreman was emotionally not 100%. Ali played mind games with Foremen and won that battle.

But I believe that Foreman would have destroyed Ali in a rematch or if the fight was held anywhere other than Zaire. Ali Nearly lost that fight early and Foreman had much greater success against common opponents.

Very close on my list but I do give the edge to Foreman. Ali was not the greatest Heavy of all time in my book. Top 3 yes.
