Good news. I reckon that was the best fight available for Bute. He'd be favoured no doubt, but Johnson will make Bute work.

Awesome schedule for the top SMW's. Kessler-Stieglitz (WBO), Bute-Johnson (IBF) and the s6 final between Ward and Froch.

    It doesn't get much better.

Maybe three? How about none? You're way off man, this was a close fight and in my honest opinion, Johnson schooled Froch to how about agress your opponent.

All Froch did in this fight was to counter attack in desperation after all those good lead right hand that Johnson was landed.

Froch landed more, Johnson agressed more.

I had Johnson 115-113 and I can understand people having Froch 116-112 but if you have 118-111 Froch or even worst, you should quit watching boxing and become a cheerleader.

Johnson is still a major player in boxing, he's by far the most underrated boxer in the world, every single close call goes towards is opponent.

Go watch the first Dawson/Johnson fight and you'll see what kind of fight Bute/Johnson will bring.

    It would be awesome.

I think, Bute would win this fight but maybe Johnson can press him enough to win by KO.

Hey Bat, you seem to be in a good mood today, glad you like the only good opposition available for Bute. We will have lots to talk about in the coming months.:bbb

This is probably the best available option for Bute. I'd make Bute a solid favorite but Johnson should make it competitive and fairly entertaining. A lot of very good possibilities coming into play over that week long stretch with the Super 6 finals, Kessler picking up a title(in all likelihood), and Bute most likely putting a solid name on his record. I'd really like to see Bute vs. Super 6 winner and Kessler vs Super 6 loser, no matter who you put into those slots you get great match ups.

yes, how great is it to see glenn who will be 43 by fight night, and 3 wins 3 losses in last 6, take on another belt holder in his hometown...
im "happy" too, it will be great to watch glenn come up short once again....

johnson is the ultimate road warrior, popular, always put up a great fight, but hes ****ing lost 14 or 15 times....its clear he does just enough to ****ing lose all his big fights...so glad youre happy about this

    Hey Laf.

How can I not be in a good mood on this great day for the SMW division?

I dont know if you know, but I actually like Bute and thinks he's an excellent fighter. The problem has been Interbox reluctance to test him. It reminds me of Calzaghe where Frank War_ren grossly underestimated how good Joe really was and therefore waied far too long to get defining fights.

Now Johnson wont be a defining fight for Bute, but it will give us a chance to measure him with Froch and surely Johnson will come to fight (before he gasses lol).

Of course it would be nice if Johnson finally wins a big fight, but I dont understand your negativity. You should be glad that Johnson, even at 43, still is so good that he is in demand and he is still able to pick up a good paycheck in the process.

That being said I hope Johnson calls it a day after this fight.

Glen Johnson deserves another chance. He put up a great effert vs Froch in which he got Froch hurt a couple of times. But Froch prove why he has a great chin. Bute chin is still shaken in which he could get stop If Johnson lands a big shot.

What I read was a near 500 000$ for Johnson. A lot more realism purse for the road warrior. I understand people saying Johnson is not the best of the division. But let's face it, he is the best Bute have face and he is the best available. I'm happy that it finally is happening, then fortunately more good things can happen afterward. But Bute will need to beat Johnson and since both know each other pretty well, it will be an interesting fight.

Wrong guy, same side of the fence, I know Laffie, but I'm not him. I meet him at some public trainnings held before a couple of Bute fights.

Lot's of Bute fans on ESB. Understandable. A guy that probably could fill a Montreal arena masturbating cannot be bad for boxing.
