Donaire is more than that. He beat 2 P4P'ers (Montiel, Darchinyan), 2 future world champions (Mthalane, Marquez) and a very good former champ in Sidorenko. He beat them all convincingly too. Definitely warrants a high place on the pound for pound list.
not ahead of Martinez or Donaire, they are lightyears ahead of Froch when it comes to skill and until they lose they will always be ahead of him, but yes Froch would have to be put in the the p4p rankings, his list of opponents is very impressive and he would more than deserve it, i'd say somewhere between 5-10, closer to 5...
actually, i'm a big Calz fan. comparing Froch to Cal is like comparing a corvette to a Formula 1 car...
Somewhere in the #10-#12 range. Ward, though talented, is not exactly a proven commodity himself as of yet.
Labeling Froch "lucky" is a bit uncharitable to say the least. Froch earned his wins over Johnson and AA, and the Dirrell affair was... well, it was what it was. Now, while I don't consider Froch a P4P candidate, I think he's better than you give him credit for.
I certainly remember when you toothpaste averse, pasty skin Limeys believed Hatton had a prayer in hell of beating Floyd. :rofl:rofl:rofl
Anytime that one of the participants in a prizefight has a Fragile Glass Jaw, and Ward does, there's a chance for the other guy to win, no matter what the gulf in class.
I can't put a white boy who lost 3 of his last 4 (GJ won, Dirrell and Kessler) in the top ten. Even if he beats Ward he is not even top 2 at 168. He is not in my top 25.
If you think GJ won then you really need to go to an eye doctor. Froch won that fight relatively easily, didn't even extend himself. Very measured performance. Dirrell fight is debatable, could have gone either way.
