The choynksi version of the Johnson fight that i posted earlier, i think it is interesting. Johnson wanting to stay cautious and his corner urging him to get more aggressive. The young Johnson finally giving him for just a second (or perhaps choynski just got the better of him) and choynski nailed him. Other than Fitzsimmons, I am not sure how many other heavyweights could have pulled off such a win.

If another 220lb Heavyweight weathered the shots of a 165lb fighter for 20 rounds, would that speak volumes for his chin too?

    That is the $64,000 question.
And, if that fighter had kod
    Maher
    Childs
    Godfrey
    Mcauliffe
    Johnson
    O Donnell
I think we can assume he had legitimate heavyweight power.

How many fights has Tyson had?

And does Benn get to land as regularly and cleanly on Tyson as Choynski did?

I see this as being Jeffries baptism of fire.

Fair play to him for taking the fight or enduring it!

Matt what is your opinion on some of the sizes of Joe's opponents that he quoted in those articles.

To me it seems that he may have been a little generous, but that is just a hunch.

Bro, lets skip this subtle dance of wit. Fact is although he may have been a big puncher(Choynski), a 220lb man taking shots from a 165lb, does not "speak volumes" about his chin.

The real impressive here is a 165lb man surviving 20 rounds againsy a 220lb pressure fighter.

I would agree ,but then I have allways thought Jeffries power was overated.

I wanted to say here that I have been working on a Joe Choynski biography (to be entitled, "The Choynski Chronicles, a Biography of the Hall of Fame Boxer, Joe Choynski"). It is nearing completion and I already have a few prospective publishers, although I have not been seriously looking for one yet. The book should be ready for the printers around the beginning of 2012.

It just got a little more impressive. like David Haye, Choynski had a sore toe leading into the fight.
