If the Klitchkos fought like Thomas Hearns, would they become huge in America?

you know they've both received a level of education to become doctors, right?
DR. ironfist and DR. steelhammer isnt some coincidence. So to A.) call them gym teachers and B.) say they dont know how to spell a word just makes you look all the more stupid

I think the Klitschko's have done just fine in their lives without being U.S. media darlings!

If Cooney fought like the Klitchkos, the drama would've been much less dramatic since most people would've picked Holmes to win easily. The fact that Cooney destroyed his competition in an exciting manner was part of the draw.

Not really the point but sure, they did very well in Germany where their styles are compatible with the German culture.

sure they would be more popular. But they couldn't fight like Hearns. Heavyweights are slow and methodical usually.

Even the great LL wasn't big, appreciated or even known in the States despite that he fought a ton of quality/highly promoted American heavies on HBO.

Yea, you really nailed it. America hates white athletes :rofl

I'm amazed at how many somehow think that not only does being American have something to do with popularity but also being black is just as important. As if when a relevant white fighter comes around he doesn't gain more attention. Your telling me that in other sports such as the NBA or NFL white athletes aren't admired?

I think the americans dont like international sports. But maybe you can blame the style of Wlad and the lack of low cuality oposition of both brothers.

But I think the principal thing is that they are not american.Being americans(anglo americans), and being whites(the "great white hope" that americans always were desired, look at mediocre fighters like Morrison and Cooney and the expectations and following they carried) they become (the Klitchskos) automatically living myths over the heart and true american heros.

In Europe, besides low level of competition they have today, and the bring style of the younger brothers, the people doesnt have many problems to buy tickets for his fights...
