Purses for Kessler and Stieglitz.

Andrade kicked Bute's ass in the 8th and almost ko'ed him. 15 more seconds and Bute would be on the floor. This round still driving me, you know after this round that it wouldn't be an ordinary night.

What being a ex champion has to do with it. He was WBA and WBC champion. They fight for the WBO. And could you post the WBO rule that say something about 40% ?:huh

 

What if Kessler will lose to Stieglitz? I see that noone takes this into consideration, but I think that Stieglitz can pull the upset. Kessler is shot! ! Mark my words.

go check page 13 at section 13 (at the bottom of the page):

"In fights for the Title between the Champion and the Mandatory Challenger held in the country of origin, residence or nationality of the Champion, the Champion shall receive 75% of the purse and the Challenger shall receive the remaining 25%."

In the page 14:

"In fights for the title held in any other country, the Champion shall receive 80% of the purse and the Challenger shall receive the remaining 20%."

Nothing says that a promoter cannot give more money to his boxer on the side, but in this case, the fight had to go to a purse bid and the fight is happening in Dannemark so the challenger (Kessler in this case) will receive 20% of the purse.

 

If that happened (I dont think it will) Kessler would have forfeited a lot of money for a belt that he didnt even receive at the end. I guess that even then Froch would want a rematch so it will be ok if Kessler win again or at least look very good, but it will hurt Kessler a lot and depending of how he feel with his eyes, he might want to retire.

look at my post for the WBO rules just 2 post before yours and in fact in a 5M$ total purse, Kessler will only keep 1M$.

The total numbers have been given by Danish poster as you saw.

 

The numbers are BS. Abraham, Froch and Kessler jumped at the chance to make 1M a fight in the Showtime Super 6 so no way this is a 5M purse

 

It seems a lot I agree, but (not trying to say that people here are lying) I think that Kessler fans dont like too much the path Kessler chose, so it maybe a little bit higher or something to "dont loose the face", but really I dont know.

 

Kinda like how you said Wladimir would lose his belt when Haye stepped up right.

Belts = Money.

Kessler has no belt. Stieglitz does.

Kessler wants the fight in Denmark so pays more.

Stieglitz knows he will lose; so wants more money.

Stieglitz can make 10x in this fight what he'd make fighting 10 bums with the belt.

Kessler is happy to pay more money to get the belt and secure greater future earnings.

Stiegeiltz is happy to lose the belt and get rich.

It's simple economics people. It's called INVESTMENT. Warr*n Buffet does it. Charles Schwab does it.
