Depends....I've been Knocked out where I felt nothing until I woke up. But when i've been rocked or buzzed it only last a few seconds (10 or 15) where it takes time to shake the cobwebs. My legs usually felt weak...like jell-o and balance was off.

I can probably post some pics from my parents computer next time I'm out there if I remember. Last time I boxed was like 6-7 years ago, so I got nothing on this computer.

i was horsing around during class in the seventh grade and turned around and took a punch in the back. I felt light headed, so i sat down. I remember everything spiraling and i went limp and fell outa my chair and hit my head on the floor. Got a concussion and the worst headache of my life. Thats what i get for messing w/someone who has close to a hundred pounds on me... :patsch

Had to take a knee when sparring a CW (I'm a MW) once. He hit me with a powerful shot to the solar plexus. It takes about 2 seconds before the impact of the shot cripples you, it's called a delayed reaction. It knocks the wind out of you and saps ALL your strength and energy out of you. And it's painful too, but really the pain is the least terrifying thing about it.

Got knocked out once too. Your sight goes all black with some sort of 'lightnings' in between the blackness. Then you literally see stars. Afterwards you have a headache.

Thankfully my sport is football (soccer to you yanks) and the worst damage i've ever suffered is a quad injury (felt it pop, was horrible) and an over extended ligament in my ankle (couldn't walk for a couple of days).

Not really contributed to the discussion I know but oh well haha.

I've never been knocked out, but I've been just about out on my feet and also once took a knee from a body shot. Both times were in sparring against LHWs (I typically clock in about 154 pounds).

There was a world of difference in how each felt. When I took the headshot, there was no pain - the only way I can describe it is like there was a very short jump in time. One moment I was going in for a jab to the body, the next I was sort of looking at the floor, with a ringing in my ears and was backing the Hell up. I was slightly dizzy and off balance, but was also aware that I had somehow ducked the follow up punches before I was even concious of taking the initial hit. When I think back on it, I suppose it feels like a drunken memory - when you seem to have been in autopilot in the middle, but can't quite remember how the moment started or ended.

The body shot isn't nearly so hard to descibe. It was just raw pain. I walked onto a hook to the solar plexus and it just felt like my insides had gone up in flames. I don't think I was too badly winded, there was just this sensation like I had downed a pint of paint stripper or something. My guts felt extremely tender afterward!

Ive been knocked out (unconscious) playing rugby at had an out of body experience. I could see myself on the floor & the others around me for a few seconds then I woke up, it was almost dreamlike. The concussion kicked in about 2hours later, I was vomiting, dizzy & felt awful all day.

Never been down sparring other than a body shot I didnt see coming that felt like it went through my diaphragm (no homo). I couldnt breathe & thought I was going to die, I turned a grey-white colour for about 5 minutes & was sore for days.

I used to box as a amateur for Santa Clara Pal Boxing, and the first time I was knocked down was a flash knockdown during a vicious sparring session. I actually rolled out of the ring. lol Didnt really feel any pain, just happened so fast. Another time I got hit in the solar plex and that shot made me take a knee. Literally took the wind right out of me and I felt like I couldn't move. That was during another good sparring session. The one thing I noticed when I was competing in real bouts is that I could never hear the crowd and when I got hit with some good shots I saw some stars but never knocked down in a actual bout.

getting stunned from a head shot doesn't really hurt, its more of a huge shock. I've seen stars, I've felt like i went to sleep while still standing, I've felt my legs turn to stone and I've seen huge flashes of light.
getting hurt in the body feels like your organs are on fire.

    RE Body shots and sequelae:

Much of what has been described can be attributed to the body shot creating Trigger Points (TrP) and/or Vagus Nerve Imbalance (VNI).

A Trigger Point may reflex to the diaphragm and cause breathing to stop temporarily. A Trigger Point or VNI may reflex to the heart or to the arteries feeding, or around, the heart. So temporary cardiac malfunction may occur. Blood pressure may be affected. If a TrP or VNI reflexes to the Pulmonary Artery, severe panic and breathlessness will be experienced. Indeed someone with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension feels this way 100% of the time!

The Vagus Nerve has branches going to all the visceral organs, so any one of them can then malfunction for a while. If the VNI or TrP reflexes to your stomach or intestines, you may throw up or defecate.

Fortunately the effects of the body shot usually diminish shortly. (Though frequently not before a count of 10 a la ODLH vs BHop.) If not, a serious medical crisis could ensue.

It is possible though for long term problems to persist. Including long lasting TrPs and VNI along with Hiatal Hernia.

TrPs can be treated via either injections of anesthetic compounds (also called neural therapy in addition to Trigger point therapy), or by manual manipulation by trained people.

There are holistic methods also for dealing with VNI and hiatal hernia as well.
