Vazquez is a wrecking ball. That's literally what he most resembles. His big yellow ADX gloves swooning in from every direction to detonate on Lopez's skull. Brave little Lopez keeps firing his straight volleys and taking more lumps than a room full of old British ladies with sweet teeth at tea time. It's no longer a war so much as a horrible beating. Lopez is keeping himself just involved enough for it not to be one-sided to the point that it has to be stopped. Jabs, hooks, straight rights and uppercuts from Vazquez all batter Lopez (smashing through even when blocked) - none fast but all HEAVY.

Round 4

Vazquez is leading with right hands and trying to hammer away as he drives Lopez to the ropes. Lopez is moving just well enough to steer away from them and flicking his jab up into Vazquez's face to no avail. Vazquez ignores even the flush right cross counters of Lopez and keeps feverishly clapping away at him with big power. Lopez is ripped with a big right hand while stepping diagonally back to get away from the ropes.

The play by play guy keeps repeating his name and it does sound like his voice - so yeah, I think so. :good

 

Round 5

Vazquez spoons his arms down, across and up at Lopez's face. Lopez is scarfing down knuckle sandwiches with an insatiable appetite. Vazquez is caught with the odd right hand counter or whatever other brief flashes of offense Lopez can muster but the heavy rain continues. Lopez is getting his brains bashed in, and is still trying his best to win these rounds. :clap;

50-45 Vazquez

 

Round 6

Vazquez lands an uppercut. He leans against Lopez, exhausting himself from all the hard punches he's throwing. Lopez keeps his forearms compressed in front of his face and flashes out some body shots and high-reaching loops around the gloves to the large head of Vazquez. Every time Lopez gets going and landing well in combination, Vazquez breaks it up with one big shot that staggers Lopez back. Vazquez falls atop him on the ropes and hammers away with rights over the top before tapping the body a bit. BIG overhand right by Lopez, just bounces off the elephantine cranium of Vazquez as though it were made of rubber. Lopez has a broken nose, bleeding profusely. BIG OVERHAND by Lopez again. COMBO, right hand left hook. Vazquez is just pushing his arms against Lopez, harrying him to the ropes with sheer physical force more than landing actual punches now.

I might give Lopez that as a sympathy round just because it was such a brave and badass effort, but in reality Vazquez literally BROKE HIS FACE. :!:

 

Round 7

Jab by Lopez, and he leans in against Vazquez's chest before propelling himself back with some slippery head movement. Lopez is now boxing really well at short range out of nowhere. Vazquez is missing everything and getting countered from mere inches away. Lopez is gaining some sharpness, but again in a familiar pattern his momentum skids as he is caught with a pair of flush powerful rights and an uppercut moments later. They lean together and work the body, Vazquez just flipping his arms out without even taking aim. Lopez sharpshoots but is outgunned in there. Vazquez lands some HARD stuff to the face of Lopez and pins him for an instant on the ropes but Lopez is able to bargain himself a few feet with well-placed short uppercuts while still getting shelled.

Round 8

Vazquez looks spent. He is breathing heavily through his mouth, and begins the round with inauspicious body language - hopping from side to side with his arms swinging low. Lopez takes his chance and sets up shop right in front of Vazquez. Lots of quality well-selected power punches by Lopez, working in the danger zone! Vazquez is getting lit up! Vazquez doesn't flinch from any of the shots, but is leaning forward and trying to take a rest. Lopez doesn't let him have one, constantly working. Uppercuts to the face and above the belt. Vazquez is finally able to grab. Lopez pulls his arms free and lands another hard uppercut. Vazquez throws an overhand right that only glances limply. Vazquez flurries hard as Lopez backs to the ropes and lets him swat the air. Clinch.

Cesar Vazquez won by unanimous decision. It sounded like all three scores matched mine, 78-74.

 

I want to see both of them again. :good
