I think Bellew will put the performance of his life in against Cleverley and will prove a few people wrong on here.
bellew talks so much about mcintosh not wanting to fight him etc being offered world title money etc. this is a guy who fought clev, who travelled to fight for european title and was offered a **** POOR deal to face bellew with ****** even wanting option on mcintosh because ****** is aware of bellews limitations. check out mcintosh side of the story " Danny Mac certainly WAS NOT asking 'world title' money to box you. This is what i am told happened (i should say i haven't seen this in black and white but i am assured this is 100% correct). * The offer was £12,000 cash or a cash-plus-tickets deal that would have involved Danny having to spend a lot of time selling tickets when he should be training and preparing * The offer also included a clause that would give FW Promotions a two fight option deal on him * He made more for his first Euro title fight and A LOT, LOT MORE for his unsuccessful defence fight than he would have done from the Bellew fight AND THE FIRST FIGHT COMBINED Danny has a lot of respect for Bellew but wanted to put the record straight on here as there have been some inaccuracies put forward. He is certainly not scared of Bomber and i think that he proved his balls by taking on Cleverly, who has since proved himself to be borderline world class. But although he would like to box Bomber in the future i am sure everyone reading the facts listed above will agree - the Euro title fight makes much more sense at the moment whilst the terms to fight Bellew remain the same. Personally, I am surprised that FWP asked for options because I thought they would have more confidence in their man." Fact of the matter is, bellew is all mouth, "I'll knock yer unconscious!" "We can do it now ****en rat" etc etc etc. not to mention "MASTERCLASS!!! I am the man!!!!" Loud mouth cringeworthy stuff and I'm sure he will be screaming like an idiot when he does what 5 others have done and beats paul david
With his power, yer cant count tony out but I see bellew being cautious for five six rounds then taking charge mid rounds and stopping him late
Yea, I don't see this Bellew power people talk about. Even if he does have major power, his punches are way too telegraphed to hurt anybody.
I think this is a 50-50 fight, I think Bellew has good power but Cleverly has a great chin, i dont think Bellew will be able to stop him I think it depends who will keep their cool and box smart and not get too involved in a brawl, i think Bellew can do this. because Bellew showed in his last fight how smart he can be and box, but it is a very very even match up imo. if i was either guy i would not take the fight, i would get some more good paydays first before risking everything on an even match
The thing is we really don't know how good either guy is. Both have looked poor at similar stages in their careers but have always found a way to win. Cleverly has impressed me in the last 2 years or so but then his level of opposition hasn't been great wheras Tony's level of opposition has not been the best but he's struggled dealing with awkward styles. Clev will obviously and rightly be the favourite but the guy is wide open for anyone with power and more boxing skill than McIntosh who with all due respect is a typical ex-kickboxer and fails to expoit his own attributes such as his strength and power. For people to say it will be an easy night for Clev is just naive. Also I don't get the growing negativity towards Tony cropping up on here now. The guy is a real character - a character that boxing sadly lacks these days. How can you not like someone as brash and colourful especially when he contributes so articulately on here and takes constructive criticism very well. Maybe with certain members on here they think it makes them look big and hard to dish out the insults to a pros knowing he'll read it. At the end of the day it's much easier to be a keyboard warrior than to fight for a living. In terms of the fight itself, I can see it being a war actually, ending in a close decision to Clev but I don't want Tony to lose and would not be at all surprised if Tony stops him
Did you think that was smart boxing last time? I thought he ran and stunk the joint out to be fair. That will nto work against cleverly, neither will the constant whinging to the ref
bellew is the bigger puncher but his power is massively massively massively overrated by those on here and bellew himself. plus cleverly has proven his chin. if they trade clev wins because he can take bellews shots and will hit bellew 3x over before getting hit himself. bellews chin also looks dodgy. how many times has cleverly been down? how many times has bellew?
bellew does look to carry a big shot though when it lands. his power is overrated i agree, especially by him (i never thought id have to go 12 rounds etc) i agree that clev has shown a decent chin, especially in the murat fight. for me, cleverly puts his punches together much better than bellew, moves better and clearly has the better chin. both will want to win more than anything. however cleverly is faster by some way. it all comes down to the question of can he take bellews shot. bellew will also have to worry about clev coming at him and throwing a lot of heavy shots. i wish i had as much confidence in clevs chin as you do mate.
