JMM had a hard time reaching PBF due to speed and size disparity. We all know that JMM is not a speedy guy though he can time you to compensate but it would be harder to time a guy with height and reach advantage. JMM's style also didn't favor him because his not use to initiate the attack rather wait to counter a guy which he cannot hurt and reach.

It went exactly as everyone should've expected. But, as is custom, you always have a few nuts whose minds seem to leave them/their biases get in the way of their cognitive abilities. I even saw this happen to otherwise decent posters in the Classic Forum. Just ridiculous. If a fresh Welter takes on a past prime, bloated, natural Feather fighting well above his best weight, what the hell else is gonna happen?

Quicker, faster, stronger, taller with a significant reach advantage......and yet time and again we have clowns stating that Mayweather beat Marquez because he was too skilled.:nut:nut:nut:nut:nut:nut:nut:nut:nut

He didnt win 1 single round, Mayweather was on a completely different level the entire fight & boxed the **** out of Marquez as if he was a small child.

I dont think people give Floyd credit for dominating Marquez like that.

Every one brings up the size issue, but really whats the difference between that fight and the weight difference De La Hoya had over Floyd in their fight??

Floyd was about 6-7 pounds heavier than Marquez on fight night. Oscar had an even greater weight advantage in his fight with Mayweather.

Marquez was the man at lightweight, and went back down afterwards, and dominated top comp afterwards.

big counterpuncher > smaller counterpuncher, im sure if this fight was several years ago at 135 jmm would have done better, maybe still lost but atleast won a few rounds.
Thats why oscar is one of floyds best wins, had oscar won a close fight that night he wouldnt have gotten much credit since floyd was never proven at 154.
It basically means as the bigger guy fighting the smaller guy coming up you will rarely get credit, martinez wont get any credit if he were to beat pac or floyd at 160 also pac wont get any credit for beating jmm in november.
The smaller guy has everything to gain: payday+legacy but if he loses it wont really hurt his legacy.

Can't rewatch this fight. Not much of a fan of JMM, but that was a painful beating.
