I agree, was just playing devil's advocate. Sonnen showed he was better than Okami at that game when they fought. I think Okami will have some success early on with a takedown or two and some top-control, but at some point Anderson is going to land the decisive shot then finish him off. I'd say Silva TKO3. Can't wait to see Anderson in the cage again, it's a pleasure watching a true striking master at work when he's on top of his game.
I was going to type a shocked reply 10 minutes ago, but my own reach knowledge deserted me and I couldn't get to my keyboard. Rookie mistake.
I concur, even down to the round. As exciting as the prospect of Anderson schooling another chump on the feet is, however, I can't say that I don't also get a bit of apprehension when he fights because unlike others, I haven't forgotten the abysmal performances he put on against Leites and Maia and there's always that possibility when he's fighting someone that he really doesn't want to hit the floor against. I doubt he's that concerned about Okami because he's not really that deadly from top position AND I'm sure Silva wants to destroy a fool for his home crowd but the possibility for a stinker does exist. EDIT- I'm trolling for pointing out that Okami has a good beard?atsch
I don't see it. Leites and Maia were BJJ fighters who knew they were overmatched, they didn't keep jumping in on Silva for TDs or trying to overpower him. Okami is tough as nails and ultra-aggressive. I fancy a cracking fight here. Ancient recycled troll talk = trollin'. Obviously.
Leites and Maia only gave up and quit trying to shoot incessant takedowns because they couldn't even get in range for anything other than desperation doubles. The first few rounds were nothing but lateral movement and shitty shots. Okami plods horribly, as well, but I think his fighting spirit, Chin, and Silva's own determination to put on a decent show for the Rio crowd will end up making it pretty entertaining. And no, pointing out that someone has a good Chin, ie MANDIBULAR FORTITUDE, is not trolling. Had I said that Okami is a Glass Jawed Fraud or something of the like when he's clearly shown that isn't the case, then I would agree. That's trolling to get a rise. My choice in wording, however, is not a clear indication of such.
I think Okami will succeed in getting takedowns where Leites and Maia failed, as he is an excellent wrestler and they aren't. This time spent on the ground will make Silva more determined to blitz Okami once they are back on the feet, and so it will go. I respectfully disagree. Ancient recycled troll-talk is the behaviour of trolls, and can only be identified using the universal symbol of troll: This content is protected
Well have fun continuing to post that massive picture in all threads because I do not abandon my terminology and I will continue to tout Iron-Chinned Warriors with stout and manly Mandibular Fortitude and I will continue to slag off Glass Jawed Frauds with Chins constructed of wet toilet paper. Since you respectfully disagreed, however, I think we can end the conversation on this well hashed-out topic here and you can post inane forum pictures and I will continue to check Chins.:happy
When Popkins first started this series I thought to myself, Hmmm...what's a good example of a fighter who's very good, but isn't great? And Rich Franklin was the first name that came to mind.
I'm more than happy with this resolution as well, fair do's and see you around. I am now the official Chin-Checker-Checker, agreed by both of us. :happy This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
how is MM trolling? i think popkins has a case of "MM makes good arguments that I don't like and since I can't come back with any counterargumetns I'll call him a troll!"
