I know it sounds like I'm biasedly just shooting down your suggestions, but didn't Quillin state he wanted to fight Martinez after the Barker fight had been arranged? I'm sure he called Martinez out like a month ago or something, which is fairly poinltessly when Serge is already scheduled to meet Barker :think? K9/Martinez would be such a huge mismatch, I would actually refuse to watch it. Scary difference in ability right there. Barker and Pirog were the best available options for Martinez, and he chose Barker. Right choice? Maybe not, but there weren't really any great opportunities outside of those 2.
It's all good, man. I'm not sensitive like that. :good I don't know the timeline of Quillin calling out Sergio, but it's done, and that's a fight I'd love to see in the near future. Call me crazy, but I think Chocolate beats him. Agree about K9. K9 loses and loses badly. I'm not sure that Barker is the best choice. There's a reason barely anyone talks about this fight (lurked for months before I took the time to reg). I think that Sergio should be looking at Super Six guys. He can't call them too big and think that welters are big enough. Super Six guys can meet Sergio in the middle at a catchweight. If he can expect Pac to give up 22 pounds on fight night, then he can give up 22 pounds to any of the sixers.
He's a far better fighter today than he was 8 years ago man, and you know it. Hes been pulling out excellent performances against top fighters for the last couple of years, better fighters than barker.
yeah your right but stranger things have happened, barker is good enough to givde him trouble in my opinion. im not saying he will win, but he will compete!
Putting Barker in there with Martinez is like putting J u s t i n Bieber in an underground freestyle tournament. It will be total domination. :deal
Quillin actually was offered the Martinez fight for October, turned it down, and now decided to start calling him out after the Barker fight was signed. He's completely full of **** and his and Roach's call-outs seem to conveniently coincide with the WBC declaring that Chavez was going to have to fight Martinez soon. I'm also not sure what in the world makes you think he'd have a decent shot in that fight. Which Super Six guys should Martinez be looking at? He's said he'd fight the winner at 164, but I doubt Froch, Ward, or Bute are that interested when they could just make more money fighting each other. Also, Martinez has said he realizes the Pacquiao fight won't happen, but a key difference here is that Pacquiao actually won a belt that Martinez held immediately prior to him. Martinez has never done the same with any of the Super Sixers.
Barker is a good fighter and i respect him taking this fight.. Martinez wins by points.. Barker aint going to stand there and take bombs all night he is smart, cant believe a few on here thinks he is gonar be a punch bag for 8 rounds.
Him or Macklin are the best of the British he's had two european fights and won, so he is working up the ladder and getting win's then why in your eyes does he not deserve a shot, i dont get your point?
