Haye looking for a fight with Povetkin. Wants his 'World title' back.

really really annoying me that all of the media outlets seem to be declaring Povetkin as a 'world' champion, yes technically he has a world title belt, but we all know Wladimir is the real WBA champion and this does not help the confusion that already surrounds this farce that is trying to recognise one world champion, it doesn't help the sport and i would have thought that the media, especially the boxing outlets, would not enforce this statement that Povetkin is a 'World' champion, ridiculous!!!

 

Going by tonights performance Povetkin loses in embarrasing fashion. I watched 2 rounds and gave up it was so awfully disapointing, returned to it and dragged myself through a few more rounds and no improvement. I've seen snails move across my yard faster than he moved tonight, he's absolutely terrible compared to the version of himself that fought Eddie Chambers. I don't give a **** about Povetkin anymore because he allowed himself to get into this state and he's never going to get back what he had. He had no pride in his own performance when he took such lay offs and did nothing but tread water on his return. It took him until now to fight a relevant opponent and luckily he got an even more corpse like figure infront of him on this occasion. I could see Povetkin losing to a lot of people right now including Haye and he's not fooling me with this 'W' and he shouldn't be fooling anybody else with that type of showing.

Realistically Povetkin is a B- quality fighter now when previously he was a B+ maybe even potentially an A- in this division. Whats his actual gameplan going into a fight now? He used to be a volume fighter with decent skills but now his volume has eroded into a steady stream of **** because his engine froze over while he was out of the ring. You can also see a clear erosion of his skills and sharpness, and well, physically he was a zombie tonight.

This has the makings of the most disappointing career in quite a while, I expect as soon as he fights somebody that hasn't been riddled with disease, injury and a hellacious beating in recent times he's going to be in a bit of bother.

 

I can see Haye winning this fight. A Povetkin that throws more punches would be a different story, but honestly I'd bet on Haye to win a decision. I think he could even stop Povetkin. Chagaev had him in trouble in the 5th and doesn't hit as hard as Haye does

I hope haye retires like he said he would and leaves the men to fight for titles. haye mugs fighters at this level he doesn't have the heart or confidence to try and dominate over a distance. I didn't see the povetkin fight, but if haye decided not to retire there's nothing I'd like to see more than haye get ktfo by him.
The reality we found out about haye in the audley and klit fight was that he's not much better Than audley. Had audley gone in and jabbed at the very least it's feasible to say he might have made life uncomfortable for haye. I mean it took haye three rounds of audley not throwing a punch to get confident enough to let his hands go.
Hayes a fraud and doesn't deserve to fight for a world title again. RETIRE

 

I wish haye would **** off and stay ****ed off. He's an embarrasment to british sport.

I guess they've got to report the facts, thats their job. Povetkin IS WBA champion. All they can do is to put the title in context.

 

Haye beats the **** out of Povetkin.

 

Haye sparks him. Pov is too slow and is nothing like the version that beat chambers. All last night proved is that, should hate fight again, he is still the 3rd best heavyweight on the planet

Regardless of what people think of Haye, he would beat the **** out of Povetkin.

 

this :deal after the klitschkos its him and then a big gap to the next viable contender, i still rate solis as possibly up there with haye but i'll reserve judgement til i'm a bit more certain his knee can take his weight.

with haye i want him to fight on but only if it's leading up to fighting wlad again, if he's content to hold a "regular title" defend a few times against below par opposition and retire without trying to beat the man i'd really rather he stayed retired because whats the point?

EVERYTHING that is wrong with boxing. Anyone still a fan of Haye should take a good look at themselves IMO.
