Despite Anderson's sublime performance, the night belonged to Nogueira!

Unlike some wise heads on here, I really thought Big Nog was going to get knocked out by Schaub. Was dreading this fight because of that, if I'm being honest. I thought it was going to be a mix of Nog vs Velasquez and Schaub vs Crocop.

Could not possibly be happier at the result. :happy:happy:happy

I think Minotauro is one of the four greatest fighters to ever fight in MMA, and it was just amazing to see a real ATG get the win he wanted in front of his home fans at last.

As a Nogueira fan, I'd be quite happy if he retired now, it'd be great to see him go out on a real high. But, I understand if he'd be determined to go on, because a 1st round KO of a good hw prospect probably does mean he could go on to some more good wins.

Congratulations Minotauro, you gave us another fantastic night!

I agree wholeheartedly. Nog's not ready to retire yet! He still has some great fights left in him. He lost to the best man on the planet in Velazquez. There's still a whole lot more people that he can beat.

Who would you like to see him in with next?

    A Mir rematch?

    Roy Nelson?

    Overeem?

    Lesnar?

Mir rematch could be a good idea

I haven't seen Shogun's fight yet. Just nog's and anderson's... But i'm glad they both won (even though okami was very disappointing).....But based on these 2 fights , Nogueira's was more fun to watch. Don't know if it was the best fight of the night , but it was a great finish.

I would like to see him fight a top contender for a chance at the title. I think a match with Lesnar for a shot at Velazquez makes sense to me.

Mir is the wildcard. Nog needs to rematch him at some point.

Rumor has it that OVereem is negotiating to fight Lesnar in the UFC later this year. I don't have a link at the moment.

Bad idea imo...Overeem would probably submit or Ko him....bad match up....But maybe a great one business wise. Since Lesnar is very popular...It'll be an opportunity for ufc fans to instantly know who this Overeem guy is...

Maybe i'm wrong but i think today's version of Nogueira (even though he's a shadow of his former self) , would be able to defeat today's version of Overeem , either by sub or decision.

Winner of Cro Cop-Nelson. That's fair for all concerned, nothing crazy. I think Nelson will spark Mirko at some point :-( The BJJ battle between Roy-Minotauro would be intriguing, especially because Nog' would tap Nelson :yep :deal

I thought I was welling up immediately after  But kept it all together, and Shogun-Griffin added to the joy:happy
