Bugner is too skilled and durable for the Helenius of today. It was extremely difficult to KO a prime Bugner, and Helenius basically relies on KO's to win his fights.

Fury would outwork him and win UD or even late stoppage.

Helenius wins by decision. This fight definitely goes the distance because Bugner had a rock jaw and a pretty good defense. I would add also that the 1973 Bugner had excellent footwork, he could dance his way out of trouble.

Bugner could make matters rough on Helenius, just as Liakhovich did yesterday. Bugner had the strength to rough Helenius up on the inside. But Bugner was never a great offensive fighter, and his power was inconsistent. Thus, he'd allow Helenius to take the initiative and win rounds.

Helenius's power and combination punching are the drivers here. I believe that Bugner could take Helenius's punches and stay out of trouble, but he'd feel the Finn's clout, and cover up as a result. As the fight progresses, Helenius wins the rounds simply by moving forward and forcing Bugner to play defense.

    Bugner would decision Helenius.

Helenius might have power but he punches in slow motion. No real skill.
