Seth Mitchell is a former collegiate linebacker who suffered a knee injury that was so severe that it ended his football career. Notwithstanding this career-ending injury, Mitchell picked up boxing and turned professional and is currently undefeated in 22 fights.

In summary. College linebacker, career ending injury, picks up boxing in twenties, turns professional, is undefeated and may well get a shot at a top 10 HW soon. Tell me what that says about the Heavyweight landscape today?
American boxing is reduced to taking cripples and gimps who had to retire from other sports.

Not one of the best young American athletes. Not close. Might be the best young American athlete that switched sports after a career knee ending injury in football.

    I think he's just taking the ****...
Ferguson got punched out early (round 1 or 2) in 3 of his 8 MMA bouts... You can guess what will happen if he fights a boxer with a pulse ;)

This has always been the case, sonny liston was around 20 years old when he took up boxing, Jess willard was heavyweight champion and didnt take it up until he was 27, rocky marciano played baseball and football before taking up boxing in his 20s

How many of those switched sports because of a career-ending injury?

Seth Mitchell was an NFL prospect. Blew his knee out and is now a professional boxer.

He's meant to be fighting Mike Mollo in September, then after that he's going to take a "careful step up" against someone like Hasim Rahman or Golata.

I'd expect him to win, and he'll be challenging for a belt in a few years time. That said, I don't see him as that big of a prospect. I think America is in a heavyweight drought and ready to attach its optimism to the first person who shows promise. I honestly mean no disrespect there, because we in the UK are the same with Tyson Fury and years ago, Audley Harrison(ha!).

Again.........Rodriquez called him out, and AGAIN, he bitched out.

When will the blatant ducking end.

    Rodriquez is America's best HW.:deal
