Vitali quit because he was getting OUTBOXED. The injury thing is just a lame excuse. Have you noticed that he never fought another slick defensive fighter after this? Look at his resume. Where are Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev, Alex Dimitrenko, and the Chris Byrd rematch?

Which is the smart choice:

With an injured shoulder...

A) fight on and beat Byrd, but possibly never fight again because of having permanent shoulder damage. Thereafter work at a high school in Moscow teaching sports for $25.000 a year.

NB the shoulder and the knee are two of the most complex joints in the body and many athletes have to stop competing because of injuries associated with these two areas.)

OR

B) Just stop the fight, heal up, and then fight on to have a very successful career and get paid millions and millions of dollars doing so.
