I think that's the least likely outcome. McDonnell is a bit of a featherfist and seems to flurry rather than throwing the big shots.

I can't believe what I'm reading! Jamie has far too much talent to let Hall beat him. He takes a clear UD in this one

 

I`m going for McDonnell by close decision but i would`nt count out a TKO win for Hall

 

Dont see what Hall brings really? He was being easily beaten by Napa when Napa thought it was too hot. Pathetic really. The Davies win was a good win. For me Arnould and Jamoye wins are way way above anything Hall has achived and Hall really didnt appreciate being hit back during the Power re-match. If the weight is no longer a issue I think McDonnell wins this handily

This fight will be won on boxing skills and fitness, not necessarily on bombs been landed IMO...:good

Mcdonnell is vastly over rated, those using Hall's fight against Napa as evidence Mcdonnell will win need to take another look at Jamie's own fight with Napa. I distinctly remember thinking Napa had won by a decent margin, yet somehow Mcdonnell got the result. Hall has more about him in my eyes. Late Stoppage.

 

I personally feel this will kick the season off in great style and McDonnell may have yet another contender for FOTY after his desperate struggle with the Belgian Road Warrior Stephen Jamoye.

Both men have made there names off the back of victories over Ian Napa. Both victories come in bizarre circumstances. McDonnell i felt was clearly outpointed by a far superior fighter and seemed to be hitting more air then Michael Jordan.

Hall struggled when facing Napa and seemed a fair few points behind on scorecards in sweltering conditions before Napa quite frankly quit because of the conditions that night. Since then both men have adjusted to life as champions with relative ease with McDonnell facing the higher quality opposition but Hall's seemed to have thrived on his champion status with a brilliant win over the dangerous Gary Davies.

Hall has developed considerably by adding a lot more thinking and boxing to his game whilst still possessing a rather crude and hurtful dig. McDonnell for all his size doesn't carry the power to stop Hall but has enough power and variation in his punches to make Hall respect him and give himself some restbite but McDonnell has shown before that he can be hurt though to his credit has bounced back as in the Jamoye fight when the Belgian applied steady pressure and landed at will early doors.

I think McDonnell has been forced into this fight due to Hall's relentless pursuit of him and reading today's BN ''I wanted to show people i'm not scared, i'm not a chicken''. To me the moment he said 'no' to Hall's offer on Sky i felt he knows the seriousness of this fight which could destroy all the good work he put together in 2010.

McDonnell will enjoy periods of success due to his workrate and variation but i feel Hall's tough enough and determined enough to break his will and intrench him in a battle of attrition and stop the Doncaster man around rounds 8-9. I see Hall's size and strength helping him as McDonnell is used to being the bigger man and i feel his allows fighters to get into short range far to easy and Hall possesses more power then Jamoye. A more accumulative crude puncher. Like Katisids in the way he punches hard and hurtful and knocks the will out of you rather then one punch power.

 

If it goes the distance I reckon McDonnell just gets the decision. But I'd back Hall to win by stoppage. 4 ko's in last 4 all against high level domestic opposition, arguably better than McDonnell has faced at 'European ' level
