I heard rumors that Povetkin actually has a great chin. But he's not really had it tested in the ring so far....
:huh:huh Not until last Saturday. Chagaev hit him clean 3,4 solids L's in a row, and Potvetkin took them very well. I mean, Chag aint exactly a great finisher, but those were some bombs, and even theough Sasha was wobbled and troubled a bit by them, a weaker chinned fighter woulda been KD'd for sure. Another thing he has going well for him as far as punch resistance, is his EXCELLENT balance. Even when rocked and being forced back into a corner, he was able to maintain his footing quite well. A lot of socalled fightfans call a fighters chin weak cause he gets KD'd or TKO'd some, but when they're going down because their legs are twisting, it's more to do with balance, and foot work. Wlad is a perfect example.....So long as he stays square, he takes a shot well, but when his legs get tangled together he forgets to defend and finds himself KD'd. Potvetkin, on the other hand, doesn't have this problem from what I see, and it's likely a taller man problem anyway, but when he's tagged, and he begins moving to avoid the next shot, his legs listen to his mind instinctively, whereas Wlads go all over the place.
Sasha should put Holyfield away early and do him and boxing a favor but like already stated by Montero, He will carry him the distance. Probably coming in even heavier than he did against Chagaev. In short; This fight is going to suck more than the Kardashian sisters, backstage at a rap concert.
Chagaev punches had way more effect on Povetkin than on Travis Walker who has about the worst chin in the sport. Povetkins chin is fragile glass if not wet toilet paper and even a 50 year old Holyfield could knock him out very well imo..
