    They say Benny Leonard was always two punches ahead of his opponent. He was supposed to be the master at outsmarting his opponents in the ring.

    How the **** did Roy Jones make it to that list?

    Good point, but I think Duran had a lot to do with it also, but I get where you're coming from.
    I can look past that because of the other things he's done and how he avenged the loss.
    He mentally screwed Duran into quitting and mentally screwed Hagler in their fight. I'm just wowed by some of the things Sugar Ray has done in his career.

    I can only vouch for people i saw. That's Hopkins for me. Seriously, who is more savvy, more crafty and knows all the tricks and naunces of the sport better than him? The guy is a walking textbook.

    Fighters have always let a certain "style" define them....being fluid and versatile is the key.

    If i could choose I would have a mix of Ivan Calderon's ring IQ + JMM's exelent combinations + Cotto's jab and left hook to the body with a hint of Tito's power marinated over Margaito's stamina...that to me would be the perfect Boxer/Puncher/Defense master...in short....this:

    For me as well, Hopkins is extremely smart. Him schooling all these guys in his 40's is proof of that.

    I'm trying to think if anyone in the history of the sport was better than Hopkins at controlling the distance. I mean based on his footwork alone, he can dictate a fight. He dictates whether the fight is on the inside or outside. And this is all WITHOUT blazing hand speed or foot speed. Just pure skill.

    except vs calzaghe where it didnt work out, because joes style is always the same, no matter whos infront of him. that was one thing joe was very good at, always being busy punching.
