Marquez, hands down, more versatile and an all around better fighter.:bbb:bbb:bbb

So many people saying Marquez was a better fighter, ability-wise. I find this strange, as the only two guys who ever put Tito to the sword were two naturally bigger, HOF-class, prime defensive stylists in Hopkins and Winky. The only other guy to give Tito a hard night of it was another prime HOF-class fighter in ODLH. Never in his career did Tito get beat or have close, difficult fights with guys like Freddie Norwood and Chris John. And when Tito fought a past-prime legend (Whitaker), he dominated him. When Marquez fought a past-prime legend (Barrera), he failed to dominate him. I really don't see the evidence to suggest Marquez had better ability than Trinidad. At the very least, it's a very close call here.

Like I said earlier, Trinidad's losses were one sided but those losses came to Hopkins and Wright who are both ATG fighters. Tito walked through the Norwood's and Chris John's of the world with no problem...

Only an insecure Puerto RIcan would think only Mexicans would pick JMM and try to turn this into a Mexican vs Puerto Rican thread:-(

Tito easily. And Tito never lost to a guy like Johns. JMM has a record of fighting good guys, but his resume of beating them is not there.

I think its extremely close at this point, thats why I made the thread, it always gets interesting arguments then:p Difference is that marquez is still active, I think he loses to pacquiao but he might have 1/2 good wins after that which will probably have him edging tito.

JMM. Boxers who can punch usually rate higher than punchers. Tito was a puncher.
