I would love too see it but its expensive as hell and none of my friends like boxing only like two of them and they only watch if its either Mayweather or Pacquiao so i might just go early to the bar get a good seat and watch it there.
Has anyone watched a fight at the movie theater? What was it like? Is the ticket cheaper than buying it PPV?
I will. Good card, potential for drama. I'll be pissed if HBO shows the whole card for free a week later like they did with Morales/Maidana though. I will never buy another HBO PPV if they do that again.
This. Price isn't really a big deal if you got a job. Would have bought it anyway but the undercard sweetened the deal even more.
Yes. June 23, 1969. I took the train from New Brunswick, NJ down to Trenton, NJ, to see Joe Frazier vs Jerry Quarry. That was the closest theater showing the fight. The ticket cost $6.50. It was great watching a B&W fight on a big screen. It wasn't so great watching Frazier bust up Quarry in a short 7 rounds.
Had a friend of mine who went. Tickets were around $15 I think. He said it was fun and rowdy. He was able to sneak in a flask and a bottle of liquor in his girls purse.
Card looks great, one of the best PPV cards in a long time, and this is one of the best fights to be made at welterweight. Just because Floyd is probably going to win, doesn't mean he's not taking a good fight. I'm planning on seeing it in a movie theater, does that count?
Morales-Matthyese Saul Alvarez vs whoever Jesse Vargas vs whoever I'd pay to see the fight in bold alone. A theater ticket for this fight is going for $20 in my area. $25 was the most I ever paid to watch a fight in theaters, Mayweather-Mosley. Watching it in theaters is the best place to watch it outside of being there live in the MGM. Very easy to zone out and focus on the fight in theaters.
