i'm guessing just to have a belt in the same division as pac (current wbo welter champ) at the same time.

But he would have had that if he won the WBA belt from Mosley.

I think the WBC belt is the most prestigious

More fighters should follow his example. Then, all the other Mickey Mouse belts and their organisations would become insignificant.

Historically maybe, but today it's one of the least credible, with the WBA. Floyd could have been a seven time world champion if the WBA belt was on the line against Mosley. Instead he told us "belts don't do nothing but attract dust".

He was willing to pay the IBF fee to fight for their title against Judah though, which is strange. Maybe to legitimise the fight, after Zab had just lost the WBC and lineal title to Baldomir.

maybe since the first title he won was WBC, it holds a significance to him and, given his nature, he believes it should be the most significant in boxing just because he believes it is.

The most distinguished belt...he is a emeritus champion for the organization and him and Jose Sulimune have a great relationship.

things have changed a bit since then.

the court cases, him trying to "change" his image, him saying pac is "next". he probably just wants somthing extra to bargain with "if" the fight happens

    This makes sense.

As does this. I'm curious about his relationship with Sulaiman though.

I'd like to believe you're right, as it would mean he's more intent on fighting Pac now than he was before he went on vacation.

compulsively random sounds really convenient for floyd and serve as a blind excuse for the diehards. he can contradict himself and still make sense to the them. i.e.

“Who has Margarito beaten to deserve a shot at me? Once he beat two or three big names then we’ll fight.”

“I mean, the fight with Henry Bruseles – somebody had to give him a chance. You know, everybody gives, I mean, how will we ever know how good a person is till you give them a chance? Somebody had to give him that chance. So I gave him that chance.”

Floyd won his first belt with the WBC, Has the most history and looks the freshest flyest and flashiest out of all sanctioning belts.

Suliman I presume also has a good partnership with him and has afforded him Many chances of fighting for the title as he has Risen through the ranks. Lil floyd appreciates this and is a very loyal person.
