No love for James Toney@2003? He beat Jirov in a classic fight and counter-punched the **** out of Holyfield and stopped him in 9 making you question whether any version of Holy could've dealt with Toney.
2001- Bernard Hopkins 2002- Vernon Forrest 2003- Roy Jones jr 2004- Marco Antonio Barrera? 2005- Ricky Hatton 2006- Manny Pacquiao 2007- Floyd Mayweather Jr 2008- Manny Pacquiao 2009- Manny Pacquiao 2010- Sergio Martinez 2011- Nonito Donaire
Once Hopkins beats Dawson he deserves it. Oldest man to win a belt and his next fight is either the second or third best guy in the division.
Baldomir certainly amongst the deserving. However, losing 12 rounds to Mayweather kind of kills that one. It could be Baldomir, 2006 being a very unclear year for FotY. I gave it to Floyd for winning 20/24 rounds and picking up the lineal title vs. Judah and Baldomir. I also agree that should Hopkins defeat Dawson in uncontroversial manner, he likely would surpass Donaire for my vote. HOWEVER, at this moment, Donaire has still got to be the favorite unless you only allow those with multiple fights to qualify, in which case it would probably have to be Rios. Another obvious note, should Victor Ortiz defeat Mayweather... Ortiz hands down.
Definitely:deal what about marquez if he beats pac. I think hopkins can be a candidate for 2006 as well.
