Mayweather is horrible to watch on 24/7. Whenever it first came out, and had him on there it was somewhat entertaining. It's just old, and he's not that clever. It's the same persona we've seen time and time again. Floyd has money, Floyd is freinds with 50, Floyd shows off $, his g/f, his house, then starts cussing up a storm about something ******ed, etc. It doesn't even offend you like it's suppose too...It's just a lame attempt at trying to get you mad at him. I actually find Ortiz pretty interesting with his background, his training, etc, but after the 24/7 Ortiz vs Mayweather I don't think any of his future 24/7s interest me either. I actualy wish they'd focus on his training a little more, and show what all he does.
I agree. Once you've seen a fighter's backstory if they're on another 24/7 it's just the same thing. It's like they use a template for each series. That's why I find the Fight Camps much more interesting. It doesn't help that Mayweather won't let them film sparring or much of his training.
Should be good as long as they keep it in the gym. The minute they focus on what goes on outside of it, that is when the sleep bugs will start to bite.
I'd rather be in Ortiz' situation than Mayweather Jrs. situation as far as the environment in which he grew up. I'd rather grow up without parents than to be raised by crackheads. Mayweather's way of being today is due to how he was raised. Just look at the trouble he's gotten himself into with the law the last few years. Thats not a mentally stable individual, and something tells me its only going to get worse for him once he's out of the limelight and out of boxing. Ortiz looks like to me like he's got a head on his shoulder, the only thing that I dont like of Ortiz himself on the 2nd episode was him harping on the issue that his parents walked out on him. .....move on, dont use your issue of not having grown up without parents and throw it at another humam being's face, I thought that was classless.
Not sure how much Ortiz brings this up in his everyday life but you can bet the director/s made it a point to hammer this idea at the pre-production meetings knowing that most people would eat this up.
