He didn't have really great boxing skills. Rather, he battled with strength and willpower and that's just awesome. It was all about who was the stronger man. That's the kind of fighter I want to be. Rocky is my hero.

The Rock had a ton of heart..a kill or be killed attitude..always in shape...but he had a great trainer in Charlie Goldman...he taught Marciano to use what he had to his advantage..and it worked..he said he only had to tell Rocky something once...he was a great learner...49-0...43 KO's...

..okay...first learn to butt....then how to hit your opponent when he's down....how to hold him behind the head while you hit him.....get a manager who is connected with the promoter...maybe use your brother or son as the promoter to avoid conflict of interest. find fighters who have a great record but are past their prime....then train like a demon...i mean really train...and you can think about fighting like your hero...

Find a way to fall in love with strength and conditioning more than anything else in your life-Rocky wouldn't have been anything remotely special without the unholy brutality that was his preparation process. Not too many guys went as far as Rock to condition themselves, and it meant when push came to shove, not too many guys could laugh at the scorching heat of a championship match like Rocky.

If you can't work yourself half to death becoming a peak specimen of human fitness, and if you don't have the strength of character required to shrug off tremendous amounts of pain without batting an eyelash, find another idol.

Without these assets, Rocky wouldn't have been a top 10 fighter. With them, he is one of the 10 best heavyweights ever. Every fighter alive could take a lesson. Rocky Marciano PROVED conditioning is king. And there is a lot more to conditioning then meets the eye.
